One handed sword + shield () Duelist build (need help)

You choosed a tankier way than I.

I don't want to play my duelist like that but I agree with your choices. Double +15% all res is a good choice in your case.

With my marauder lvl 48 I have been able to raise my resistances to +75 % with double +15% skills and gear. And I could do better.

Remember that when you start playing in cruel difficulty you have à -20% in all resistances.

You should try to use a mana leech gem on your main attack spell.

Reconsider my build, I am taking quite a few nearby attack speed and damage nodes now. I do 1800 single target DPS, and 1250 AOE dps. I highly recommend Hatred aura, it adds the most damage out of anything in the game really.

I have yet to choose a weapon type (sword or axe) so once I do, I can take some more nearby damage nodes. I just decided to take the tankier nodes first.

The resistances is definitely important, I plan to hit 80%/80%/80%, this is key in tanking act 2/3 merciless and later maps.
