Guaranteed "First Time Running" crash

I'm having a problem, that every time I launch PoE (Steam version) for the first time of the day (or pr. reboot of my machine), it will crash after I log in, and the camera is moving at the character select. Not that it's a big problem, but I just find it odd? 2nd time I run it, I can play for hours without trouble, but the first time I'm guaranteed the crash. Also, the load time before the login - screen is usually a bit longer the first time.

Any idea how I can avoid it?

Same thing is happening to me. Log in, select character. Load. When the character appears on the screen, along with the village the game froze. After a while it goes to the character selection again and everything works fine.
Hi I recomend you to do the following that might help GGG to solve your problem

Restart PC.
Watch at your local time
Start the Game
If the Game Crashes, Start it Again.
Exit the Game.

Go to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Path of Exile\logs\

Open the File
"Client"

Scroll down and copy everything from the time you watch your local time to the end of the file
Paste it in a Pastebin like u did with your dxdiag.

That might help GGG see if there is something odd in the log file.

And you can try the following that maybe could solve the problem
Start game
Go to options, Disable Anti-aliasing
Restart PC.
Test if it crashes
if not repeat the process activating anti-aliasing and changing the DirectX if nothing of that solves the problem and it keeps crashing just report here that non of that solved the problem.

Best regards

Same issue, given my specs, I can say it's not related to old hardware.

And none of the above solved it.
