How does Iron Reflexes work exactly?

It's additive - so option 3 from your OP, with the caveat that you don't double-dip from Leather and Steel clusters.

Armor nodes add to the bonus.
Evasion nodes add to the bonus.
Armor/evasion nodes add to the bonus, but only once, making them numerically slightly weaker than pure nodes.

So is this correct?

If you had hybrid armour that was 500 AR / 500 EV:

+8% AR node => (500+500)*1.08 = 1080 AR
+8% EV node => (500*1.08)+500 = 1040 AR
+6% AR/EV node => (500*1.06)+(500*1.06) = 1060 AR

So using iron reflexes with hybrid armours, it's best to get +AR% nodes (or equally sized +AR/EV% nodes)?

Edit: Nvm, I get it.

So comparing the two...
24% AR/EV would still net a higher value than 30% AR(its equivalent) and 8% ev/ar would still net a higher value than 10% ar.(its equivalent). Pretty sure it works same for items too.
Edit nr 2: Omg, so armor when you have hybrid armor > ar/ev...
This makes no sense whatsoever!

But if you were to choose between same amount of armor% and evasion%, you should get armor. Okay :)
Is this correct ;P?

It's kind of stupid because hybrid armors never have armor %+ and always have armor/evasion %+, which is the worst out of the bunch. No evasion armors have armor %+ either.
I really think it should work like this:
(500 EV*1.08)1.08 +(500 AR*1.08)

We're talking about how passive nodes are applied, not item local modifiers.
Local modifiers are applied long before any passives are calculated.

Hybrid armours (when combined with IR, and perfect affixes) offer the maximum achievable AR.
More importantly, they offer a means of getting high AR without requiring perfect affixes.

Just putting that into practical terms; It's just that the effectiveness is greatly diminished in practice simply because each Leather And Steel Node gives you only half the benefit one would expect(or reduced by 2%/6% compared to pure ones) to have and the way it's calculated is not really written in bold.
I actually doubt that any armor + armor % affixes would be worse than hybrid armor + evasion/hybrid.
