How does Iron Reflexes work exactly?
|
How does it calculate the amount? What is the resulting amount of armor?
Edit: Suppose you have 8% armor + and 8% evasion +. How much Armour get after Iron Reflexes? 1)Converted Evasion with Evasion % has no benefit from armor %.(1.08 from evasion % only) 1)Converted Evasion with Evasion % gets benefit from armor % multiplicatively(1.08 * 1.08 for 1.1664) 3)Converted Evasion with Evasion % gets benefit from armor % additively(1.08+1.08 for 1.16) Anyone can clarify? Thanks. Last edited by Theorycrafter#7860 on Jan 27, 2013, 5:02:38 AM

" I'm petty sure it converts evasion to armor 1 to 1. A shabby jerkin with 20 evasion would give you 20 armor instead. The damage reduction against the "generic monster at your level" resulting from this might not be the same as the chance to evade you would have had without the conversion, though. I have a feeling evasion and armor are not calculated exactly the same way. From what I saw several versions ago, both armor and evasion nodes would raise your total armor once you get Iron Reflexes, so long as you're wearing evasion armor (leather). I don't think you get both bonuses from hybrid armor-evasion nodes, though. I read they changed how these work a while back. Dexterity also gives you more armor, as it raises evasion, which gets converted. This means leather can potentially give you better protection than plate. A man, shirtless, wearing black leather boots and long gloves, a torturer's apron at his waist, shank in hand, surrounded by dead babies. Last edited by Lucalain#6579 on Jan 27, 2013, 1:18:06 AM

So ... Evasion % bonus work(if you wear evasion-only equipment) but Evasion+Armor % bonuses don't?
I'm confused:( |

IR does not make the evasion into armour until after all calculations to evasion are complete. For instance, if you have 500 base evasion with +10% evasion on top of that you would have a total of 550 evasion which would convert into 550 armour instead giving you damage reduction instead of evasion chance.
In other words, +X% evasion stacks with the keystone. You will get armour equal to the evasion rating you should have. |
|
" So: Evasion % + is counted but it's not affected by armour % after conversion. Correct? |
|
" Yes it is counted then it converts to armour rating after all additions to evasion rating. After being converted to armour it then gives you the damage reduction from the armour equal to the armour rating that you get from your total evasion rating. Simple terms...
Spoiler
base evasion rating from gear + X% increase to evasion rating = armour rating + X% armour rating = damage reduction

"Converted" statistics will benefit from bonuses to both the source and destination statistics (additively), but will not benefit more than once from the same source.
If you pick up an 8% armor node and an 8% evasion node, an item with 1000 evasion will give you 1160 armor (not 1166). If you pick up a single 8% armor/evasion node, that 1000 evasion will only convert to 1080 armor. |
|
" So... for a guy who stacks evasion gear only and Iron Reflexes, there is no point in getting armor % bonuses and gets halved effectiveness of Leather and Steel. Correct? |
|
" Ohhh so it stacks additively but not multiplicatively is what you're saying? |

I get conflicted answers.
I need a definite answer. Suppose you have 8% armor + and 8% evasion +. How much you get after Iron Reflexes? 1)Converted Evasion with Evasion % has no benefit from armor %.(1.08 from evasion % only) 1)Converted Evasion with Evasion % gets benefit from armor % multiplicatively(1.08 * 1.08 for 1.1664) 3)Converted Evasion with Evasion % gets benefit from armor % additively(1.08+1.08 for 1.16) Anyone can clarify? |
