What is Snapshot?

It's mentioned a lot in this forum at the moment.

All I can work it out to be is that if you are wearing +minion gear (like the necklace unique thing you get early on that gives summons more life and damage) and you summon whilst wearing that but then take it off for the IIQ or IIR neck lace. Then the zombies keep the damage and health but you get the iiq and r from the currently equiped gear?

Is that Snapshoting? Because it sounds a little bit of a pain to do. And I doubt the game is balanced around the assumption that people will be doing this. Because I'd probably end up accidentally vendoring the swapped out gear!

It's doable with a lot other things, but in eseense, yes.

I do it with my Empower level 3 gem, for when I activate auras, and then I switch it to my main skill. Others do it with Reduced Mana gem, Blood Magic items, and many other things.

It's silly, it's broken, but it works, so use it while you can if you're not too lazy.
