How to boost trap damage?

I'm a lightning trap user and currently not doing much damage and wonder how can i do more? it's already linked with multitrap + Trap + culling but I still aren't doing much damage only 270 (9 projectiles). Currently have a sunblast equipped. Would like some advice to boost damage.

Multitrap giving 40% less damage might be hurting too much until you have more links or more passives to boost the damage to compensate. Replacing it with a damage gem (added X damage, faster projectiles, etc) should get your damage over 500 and be better for single targets at the cost of saturating groups with lightning. Add multitrap back in later when you have more links and more damage.

Are you using a curse such as conductivity? If not, and even if so, you might find lightning penetration is the most effective support gem, as penetration has its greatest benefit against the monsters your attack is already weakest against.

try to add some fire traps every now and then. bear traps for single target dps.
