reduce maximum fps
|
Hello
it would be really usefull to have some option where you could change the maximum fps ingame to prevent overheating cause i don't need 60 fps or more , 30 would be enough and i could run the game for hours without having those kind of issues. Thx a lot. PS :i'm not really sure if it's the right forum to post that. sry if it's not |

Turn on Vsync. It will limit your framerate to your monitor refresh rate. Probably 60hz so you will get a maximum of 60fps.

" Which makes other areas unplayable (under 30fps). I don't have the nerve to switch VSynch off and on again depending on an area. GGG should really cap the fps to 60. My little tribute to Diablo 1 aka why Diablo 3 is the worst part of the series.

" Use dxtory... |

" Capping FPS to 60 is for console games. They should have a player-set cap. 30/60/72/120. They'd be screwing over people whose computers can run the game well if they capped 60. I'm fortunate enough to get ~150-170 frames while completely maxed out, so others with decent setups would get hammered by an FPS cap like that. |
|
" Why exactly do you need more than 60fps? You know that everything above 60fps+ makes no difference for the human eye anymore, don't ya? " That's a common misconception. My main game is TF2. Ask anyone from CS/Quake/TF2 and they'll tell you the difference between 60hz and 120hz is like night and day. Not that you need it for games like PoE where tracking/twitching is not as hectic, but as long as the power to pump out those frames is there, why not take advantage of it? |

I also support FPS cap slider (like the one World Of Warcaft has for example) WITHOUT vSYNC enabling (bacause vsync reduce performance - i want only cap my fps tpo for example 40).
Or maybe is there way to override this or force this even if game dont support this? |

I agree, running a single gtx 680 superclocked for this game and it can handle anything. With vsync enabled i get parts of the game where the screen stutters as if it cant keep up, turning off vsync gives me 390fps fully maxed out with the card running @ 80C, which isnt a problem just annoying there is no slider or config so you can set the max to 120-140

Yeah the human eye can see well above 60hz on games. if you're talking about full motion captured frames then it wouldn't matter but computer games aren't motion captured so higher fps does make a difference. I have a 120hz monitor and it makes a huge different in games.
