Why Don't My Uniques Look Unique?

The real question is, why is it called "unique" when there's a hundred guys running around with the same item?

Well that sucks.

That's a massive buzz-kill on wanting to bother hunting loot if it doesn't look cool.

I don't get it though, there are supporter unique items that have all this fancy stuff, but all my unique items are from the base game. Like, they've all been in the game since forever if I'm not mistaken, but some new supporter unique gets a skin?

C'mon GGG I look like a hobo! I'm supposed to be a scary necromancer!
I don't understand how unique items could be released without their looks, that's half the appeal!

Considering how young and underfunded this company is you are expecting too much. Which is why many people here buy their supporter packs hoping they can get a bit wealthier and improve things.

You who are just like myself who did not pay for anything to support them has no right to say that.

After watching the credits, which I swear was an hour or so long, and seeing all those names listed, its hard to think of them as underfunded. Really the lack of unique art on my items bugs me more than desync does lately. I wish they would dedicate a few people solely to getting those skins done.

Thx for that charan, that is an awesome link!

I would suggest anybody to go and take a look at it, very helpful for skin transfer project's etc :)!
Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes
yeah wtf... i could make the 3d models faster... what gives?
(although, making sure the model works with all the character rigs is the part thats taking their time im guessing)

.. and i think they shouldve made the 3d models first, and screenshot them for the 2d art.

... although the 3d art is relatively low poly, and the 2d art looks pretty niiice!

i would think the 2d art would take longer, but i have 3d art experience, and cant fathom how to make amazing painted looking 2d art.

3d art modelling is pretty easy... its like, the computer is doing all the work :)

Runic games is/was like 20 people when they made Torchlight and Torchlight 2.

Iron Lore was pretty small when they made Titan Quest.

You, who assume, have no right. Never assume, it makes an ass of you and me.

I've bought plenty of cosmetic micro-transactions, Mummies skin, Summon statues skin, and bank space. Really, I've spent more on this game than on most games I've "bought".

So don't get all holier-than-thou self righteous on me just because I don't have or use some stupid flair on these forums to prove it.

Never judge someone at a glance.

oh come on, dont get so agitated. I meant no offence. I only said if we did not pay we should not be so demanding right? If you actually understood their position, then yeah that comment does not apply to you. It is not meant to be a personal attack, it s meant to people who do not understand GGG s difficulties.

Torchlight was also buy-to-play, and quite a phenomenon at that.

Yeah, it was $20. That's less than I've spent here, on two cosmetic micro-transactions.

That said, it was made by the other half of the original Diablo team. Like, this game, pretty much took it's whole end-game mapping right from Torchlight. Mapworks anyone? It was no phenomenon, they are pros is all.

Iron Lore made Titan Quest under THQ's financial umbrella.

Neither game was online-only.

The on-line bit is true, but THQ actually screwed Iron lore over with the publishing contract. That and they released when online piracy was in it's prime, where the main reasons they closed up.

It was well documented in some open-posts on their forums, and later archived at titan quest.net. THQ did not provide for Iron Lore.

Like if you played it, remember the rubber banding issue? That was actually put in-game for pirated copies, it was a background check or something, anyway, it was the number one issue of forum posters, and it only happened in pirated copies... I'm rambling ;)

Sorry.

I am quite sensitive to such things, I will admit. No harm done.
