Why Don't My Uniques Look Unique?

Hey all,
This has been bumming me out for a while now, and I'd been meaning to make a post about it. I got some really cool 'looking' unique items for my summoner, a few I wanted even, just for how cool they look... So I get them, and they look the same as the store-bought trash! I see people running around with that Bringer helm, raining blood, or those knife-boots with blood steps, etc, but all my gear looks like common trash... What gives? Here are the items: Only my shield looks cool, it's some guys head on a stick. That's pretty cool, but like, the Cloak of Defiance, half the reason I wanted it was because of how cool it 'looked' on the wiki. My boots, with their bones on them, are like normal purple boots from the store. My staff is no skull, it just looks like a stick. etc. Why don't my unique items look unique? Everyone Else's seems to. Anyone got any ideas? Am I bugged in some way? I got the graphics maxed. Thanks, |

not all of the uniques have unique arts yet, matua tupuna also looked like a normal tarnished spirit shield when intruduced to the game

Because every 2 weeeks a new patch coems out with ~5 uniqes and they all need skinns but we only get new skin every 2nd patch or so

" Well that sucks. That's a massive buzz-kill on wanting to bother hunting loot if it doesn't look cool. I don't get it though, there are supporter unique items that have all this fancy stuff, but all my unique items are from the base game. Like, they've all been in the game since forever if I'm not mistaken, but some new supporter unique gets a skin? C'mon GGG I look like a hobo! I'm supposed to be a scary necromancer! 3D arts take time to make, but eventually even those will have their

Uniques are chosen pretty randomly for getting 3D models, I think it is just a modeler at GGG one day going "I'm gonna work on THIS unique today". Uniques wouldn't be released as often if GGG waited for them to have a unique model before releasing them.

I've been complaining about this forever. They need to get serious about getting these skinned, because it looks pretty amateur when you have uniques from a year ago that still aren't skinned. You can get away with that in beta, not when you're supposed to have a finished product. Stop introducing new uniques until you can't take care of the ones you already have. If you aren't going to do something right, don't do it at all.

" I agree with the rest of your post, but this is the point that I really agree with. It's an ARPG, half the fun is finding cool unique items for their stats, AND the cool look. As trivial as it may sound, it really does put a damper on wanting to play a loot-centric game, when the unique items I get look like vendor wares. I would totally opt for slower released unique items, if it meant all the unique items in game have the proper skin. My character looks like a hobo. Yeah I agree that they first need to finish the arts for the uniques before releasing new uniques every patch alongside the usual trolling of rhoa feathers and fishing rods, seriously. Also if they want to add new uniques please oh please add uniques to item types that barely have any uniques to start with, quivers come to mind, like what 2 uniques, broadstroke and blackgleam, both low lvl and imo not that great. And some item base types dont even have uniques like mentioned before.
