If I had access to the kind of gear a top-ladder player has, with all his guildies and other less-savory means of gaining advantage, I could make my current wrecking ball of a character into an unstoppable juggernaut of devastation.

If you think that cast on critless spectral throw is a good skill to base a build around, you're either a noob or a hardcore player, I guess. I'll recommence my lol' and lel's now, if you don't mind.
