Lightning resistance in Act 3..
Why does it feel like lightning resistance doesn't do anything in Act 3? Does anyone else have this problem?

Yes. instant cast lightning mobs behind all the physical melee really pissed me off. Perfect build and skills, but you can't dodge instant casts. They would literally 3-4 shot me solo with about 50% res. I would always have to go through 1-2 flasks. It doesn't help being melee.

Yeah,, it actually feels like none of the resistances are helping in act 3

Try maxing it if you feel uncomfortable with 50%, 75% would make you take half the current damage.
Take care out there.

Do they scale the difficulty with the # of people in a party? I feel like im gimping myself by playing solo

resist help but lighting monster always throw shit load of spark so you get hit many many time.also lightning can shock and if it happen....you take 40% more dmg and you can have multiple shock on you....80% more dmg.if that happen, few hit and you are death....
try it next time you see a lightning skeleton,make it that only one hit you and with decent resist they do really low dmg.its just dangerous when there a full room with them + a fucking necro to curse you and lower your resist lol.im meele and i eat all that shit so i feel your pain lol. |

For melee flicker strike skill gem is invaluable to counter range mobs. For those who don't know what that is when you mouse over a target and use the skill you instantly appear there and attack. If you don't mouse over a target it will randomly choose a mob to attack. Flicker strike is also useful when you are being swarmed by melee because you can use the skill to move to another mob and run away.

" DPS does not scale for mobs in parties, however mob HP does scale. So essentially it will take you longer to kill mobs and thus more chances to be hit. It should be noted that from my understanding projectile mobs cannot MISS now - as of the new patch - (can still evade/etc with the keystones) therefore, if you're not dodging range you're going to take considerably more damage. Also, for ranged lightning mobs(Chamber of Secrets for example), skeles that use Lightning Arrow still have a chance to stack shock debuffs on you which would increase incoming damage.
