Elemental Equilibrium AOE Tank Templar
|
Hey all. I have been working on this build for my Templar, and am now looking for critiques.
The basis of this build is to be in the middle of the fight, AOE'ing mobs while being somewhat tanky. Also, this build Uses Elemental Equilibrium. Switching between AOE spells for more damage. I left some spots optional to pick up, but I am interested in hearing what you guys think. http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgUABVuLjOFz7SBG15_fPAXvfF3G3fNgbbUERUcxATWAiLqdrhpsGYUkqjbp42r60h0UmK1MNSjF877jgucL3rBmnnFNms9DY7cxWPWdxKmVcH1PfYBWGjJRYOQiKU-Cm-w4OthN2Ix2pwjYJDbFHwJ-r3YRnqGvm5wth2U22PFs7FUEB0yzLR-NGeAS3YxtGY48F1QigQ== Right now I am level 24, and have no issue soling everything, or being in a group. I just picked up EE and did some testing. As long as you don't confuse which elements they are resistant to at the time, it works great. After picking up EE, I would probably move down towards the defensive nodes, then move towards the elemental damage nodes after. Critique away! |

i am planning to do something similar. I just started last night and i switch between fire trap and ice nova as my 2 AOES. I don't know if i'll stick with those when i get EE but ice nova is certainly nice. I am only level 8 though. I started off with the AOE nodes then grabbed the life nodes at the bottom. I am now going to start my way to get EE.
From there, i will prob go for 2x curses because i plan to use elemental weakness down the road and maybe another curse. http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgUABVuLjJ_fPAXvfIM4FE0Es6IAAnHwH52AYG3d813GtQRFRzLRuJOnCNrdFVCPRh0UmK2Bb548TdiMdg== At this point i will prob grab 1 hand mace and more defensive nodes once i for sure know the skills and weapon ill be using. I like your build but i personally would not grab all the different + fire + frost + lightning damages. This is just my preference. From what i gather, EE appears to work well with 2 elements making spending valuable passives to slightly increase each element individually not worth it imo. |

what are you using for single target?

I'm playing a similar build and I'm using Power Siphon for single target. It's pretty effective.

this does not seem to make use of Elemental Equilibrium.
also, is power siphon a spell that can kill bosses? Last edited by Revolutionary#5605 on Jan 25, 2013, 12:09:01 PM

What weapon do you use with this build?

power charges, static blows, inner force
Some of the best nodes in the game and your really close to them. Also if your getting EE, why use all 3 elemental types. Just use two and strengthen them more, lighting+shock buffs should def be your first choice. Basically if your going EE you want to hit everything with power siphon+lightning spell to get endurance charges and three shock stacks then do either fire damage or cold damage, you don't want both. So you want a lot of lightning damage because the more it hits for the longer your shocks last. Then you just want to get three shocks(shocked monsters take 220% more damage), so you want all the shock nodes + lightning damage node + elemental damage nodes. Then focus all on fire or cold for the real damage. You didn't even get catalyse nodes, lol. Any ways I've never made a build like this so it's all just theory and I might not be 100% on some aspects. Also, your not going to be very tanky the shield block nodes might just be a waste (you will block 50%, then just die when you get hit). And chaos damage is going to kill you without chaos inoculation. ign: DaEDaenarys Last edited by BldSwtTrs#4844 on Jan 25, 2013, 4:54:15 PM

Honestly when you get the nodes for lighting + fire or cold. It starts to use a lot of nodes making the build a lot less viable. I guess you could drop the 6% lightning nodes to free up some points.
lightning + fire storm buiild ? http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgUABVuLjJ_f4XM8Be0g73xG113G3fO2hmBtfVN65udq1HyCmylPhX3sOOQiFkBX4jrYjmRmnnflMolN2PemcU360ox2tvqazx0UQ2OPRpittzGnCFj12CS4k53ENsUMfdsCHwI22BB_0xt-rwQHnC3xbMaeeM52EUyzh2XsVT9z7m8tH1Awr7eXhfTpZ72NGW0Z215JGyqN4BI74cHzLJzdjLvW4veCHq6ztYURUKcriEIFQi5w5oHyHcHFQZYHY8BULL-CEHNTVyvfsEmyAuMHpQ== The real question is do you actually need two elements? is EE worth it? You can probably kill almost anything with one element pretty quickly. And shock is clearly unmatched. I'm following this build, seems working good. Please update it with the last points left, later. So we can discuss more. (Assuming who made this thread is even barely reading it at all.)
