Does character item quantity affect map drops?

Wanted a definite answer of whether Item Quantity on a character affects map drops. I know that only the quantity on the map DIRECTLY affects the map drops. My question is: does Item Quantity on a character INDIRECTLY affects map drops within a map?

Logic is the following: A monster has a chance to drop an ITEM: armor, weapon, an orb or a map. ITEM Quantity would increase the number ITEMs that a monster drops. Does that mean the character ITEM QUANTITY INDIRECTLY increases the number of maps dropped within the map?

Please no trolling or vague answers, i want an expert opinion.

Unique maps are not considered maps.

End-Game Map Changes:
The player's "Increased Item Quantity" stat does not affect the drop rate of Map items any more. It does still increase the drop rate of everything else inside Maps.
Maps now drop 24% more often.
The mods on Maps that increase the quantity of items (and Maps) dropped within that Map are now around 50% higher.
It's now slightly easier to find higher level Maps.
