" "English" and "British" (or England and Britain) are both 7 letters. You can't claim laziness. Many lewt.
Much desync. Such rewarding. Wow. According to forum mods "sandwich" is considered an offensive word. Who knew? |

He meant Northern Ireland. I just was being lazy again and didn't feel like correcting him. Though usually I do when someone being a know it all making such a huge fuckup amuses the hell out of me.

" [Removed by Admin] My point was very simple: the size of the country/political entity does not have to correlate with their influence/political power/military might. Towards that end I used the more colloquially identifiable term, England, to refer to the United Kingdom rather than Britain (or the United Kingdom). Rather than getting into all those distinctions, I took a shortcut assuming my basic message (the reason for posting) would be received by the largest possible audience. It's the same thing as how Queen Elizabeth the Second's official title in the United Kingdom is "Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of Her other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith." but nobody refers to her as that in relaxed writing. " Okay, so I lied in my last post, this is the last off-topic derail. You are of Irish descent (as am I), and yet couldn't be bothered to make the CRUCIAL and MASSIVELY POLITICALLY SENSITIVE TO THIS DAY distinction between Ireland and Northern Ireland. When you manage to locate your credibility, come back. Support a free Hong Kong. " I said the UK consisted of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. This is true. The fact that Ireland is divided has no bearing on my previous post, and does not question my credibility. My forefathers left Ireland for NZ back around the time of the great potato famine. Before that, my family fought alongside William Wallace against the British. I have a friends wedding coming up, where I am required to wear a kilt (as one of the groomsmen), and I will wear the family tartan with pride. ![]() But like Charan said, get this thread back on track.
