Uncommon build - Voltaxic Storm Caller

I don't have much time so this will be rather short, but I'd still like to share my latest idea with you.

The build is very expensive to finish. It requires a Voltaxic Rift, but one with 5 off-colours: BBBBBG, at least if you want to use 2 x 6-linked abilities.

The idea was to use Voltaxic as a spell caster. Compared with Taryn's Shiver for example, Voltaxic seems to be a bad choice, even if it also allows to use a 6-linked-ability. But don't forget we can use a quiver now for high crit multiplier and we are immune to reflect if we use only lightning attacks - this means without vaal pact.

As auras don't add much damage to spellcasters, I'd go for CI and take the ES nodes around the Shadow class, as well as the crit nodes. Also take the SD nodes in the witch area, as well as the increased area dmg nodes.

Skills:

6-L-Voltaxic: Storm call, faster casting, increased crit dmg, added chaos dmg, concentrated effect, increased area of effect

6-L-chest: Arc, faster casting, increased crit dmg, life leech, chain, power charge on crit

Any thoughts? Up for discussion.

Unless you link one, i insist that it doesn't exist.

I agree with you but theoretically it can exist. There are 6 off colour Shavronnes out there :)

The idea sounds interesting, but i doubt it'll be worth the expense of such a heavily off-coloured Voltaxic. Your dps will be pretty low, a good wand + spell crit shield will out-damage this easily. The only positive thing will be immunity against reflect (atleast until GGG adds chaos reflect, if that'll ever happen), but then again your dps will probably be that low that you couldn't even 1-shot yourself.

Would still be interested to see how this turns out, if you happen to own the 6l Voltaxic already.

I don't own one unfortunately. But I think dps-wise, this could be better than wand + shield in a crit build.

Afaik only quivers can have a high crit multiplier (shields don't), which adds most of the dmg. Ok, the bow doesn't add anything directly, but indirectly you gain all the passives you otherwise had to spend into vaal pact. So you can simply go all lightning nodes next to SD nodes/ele nodes etc.

I would try this build myself but right now I don't have enough time and I don't have as much currency either. When I restart with poe it will take me a while to get the bow. But maybe someone likes to EXPERIMENT ;)

Think of the style - bow user who doesn't shoot 1 arrow at all. Looks insanely cool (maybe not) :)
