Alternate crafting system

This is BOZO the clown. BOZO is a master craftclown, or he would be if he wasn't a clown. BOZO would like to offer his services for other fellow crafters of Wraeclast, for a little fee of course!

Spoiler
This is a rhough draft, so thing are subject to change. Except BOZO (I hope)!

How does it work?
First of all, this system does NOT replace the current crafting system. Instead, it'll offer fellow exiles an alternate, more controlled way to craft their items. However, it will not completely eliminate RNG (more on that later).

Let's take an example: You have a iLvl 100 Lacquered Saintly Chainmail of the Inuit. Great! That's what you wanted. Now, you'd like to roll the Vigorous prefix mod to complete that BiS item. Sure, you can Eternal and Regal/Exalt that item until you get it, but it might take a while and lots of currency. Well BOZO will be able to help you out!

You see, BOZO is this new NPC that will be in {a certain place}. He has various recipes that'll help you craft your item. For example, give him a certain number of {crafting scrolls} (temporary name) that has the "Vigorous" mod on it, {a certain number} of Transmutation/Regal/Exalt (depending of your base item rarity, and maybe the required level of the mod you want to get) along with your item and BOZO will try to roll that mod first! The chance of success will depend of the number of crafting scrolls you gave him.

Spoiler
I'm sure the interface will be better!

PS. I know, it should be a Regal not an Exalt.

Now, each scroll have a 5% (not decided) chance to roll that mod, and each stacks up to 5 times. So, with only up to 3 available slots (depending how many Transmutation/Regal/Exalt is needed, it might become less) BOZO have up to 75% chance to roll that mod for you. BOZO can't make it 100% because he always clowns around. If he fails, you'll get a random mod (just like if you used one of those currency). However, BOZO will give you back the item, either it rolled correctly or not, with his signature (oh noses)! BOZO makes them custom tailored for you meaning the item will be account bound. You will not to able to imprint or mirror that said item either as he likes them unique. BOZO doesn't like fakes so he won't take mirrored items either. Of course, your item iLvl must be equal or higher than the required level for the mod to succeed.

Now you ask, what happens if he fails a roll? Well BOZO can try to fix it for you! Another recipe will allow BOZO to try and destroy a certain mod on an item. Give give a {a certain amount of Scouring/Regret}, along with some crafting scrolls with the mod you want to destroy. Assuming it uses the same interface, you'll have up to 75% to remove the mod. If he fails, he'll remove a mod randomly. He'll appose his signature after this method as well.

More recipes could be added in the future.

How would we get those said crafting scrolls?
By vendoring items! Each magic and rare item you vendor will have a chance to get you a scroll of a mod that was on it. For example, you sell a Lacquered Saintly Chainmail of the Inuit. You would have a {certain}% of chance to get a scroll with the "Lacquered" prefix mod and another scroll with the "of the Inuit" suffix mod. So that we cannot abuse it, you will not be able to see if you'll actually get the said scroll in the sale preview window. The percentage would be small so that they remain relatively hard to get. Those scrolls would be account bound (?).

Why an alternate system?
Because I think it'll make crafting less random to a certain extent. You'll still to use the current system if want to trade your crafted items. If you want to play self-found or don't care about trading, then this will be a good alternative. This system will make it a tad easier to get good gear. It is because of that fact that I've decided to make it account bound and non-mirrorable.

It will also give incentive to players to check their magic items if they are in need of a specific mod. It will also enable low level crafting. Right now, people are only making BiS gear because it is expensive. Hopefully that this will alleviate the problem, at least a little.

I realize that there are lots of mods, and it will require some stash space to keep them all. Well, we have the extra stash tabs MTX for that!

Please discuss!

I think this is a decent idea, but having all those different mods will make it difficult to keep track of what scrolls you have. Maybe if it were only prefix/suffix and base type item (weapon/armour/ring), it could be better.

I really think this idea is going in the right direction, somewhat controlled crafting that doesn't guarantee a perfect item. I think having mod level deterioration with the crafting will also make it more balanced.

This doesn't solve the problem of fusings/chromatics though.

I know there are lots of available mods, and that makes getting the maximum (15) number of the same scrolls harder. I haven't specified it in my first post, but I believe you could use two or three different stacks of scrolls. Of course only one mod would apply but BOZO would try to roll the first one, then try the 2nd if he fails, and so on.

It's not meant to be easy, nor be the fastest way to get that BiS item. It's still very grindy, but I believe it fits in an ARPG.

BOZO could like colored thing. A certain number of chromatics and a (or multiple) gem of a color would skew his tendency to give you a that gem's color. Again, not 100% because he's a clown.

As for Fusing, I don't know. Can BOZO the clown even solder?
