A glimmer of hope.

I really hope this is the ticket to dethrone Blizzard.. I miss the days of D2 very much, and this looks like the fresh breath of life the genre has desperately needed. Just saw this, but I'm incredibly stoked about it. Let's just hope the microtransactions deal doesn't end up somehow ruining the game. I saw what they said about it, but what they SAY and DO can be two different things (as many of us know at this point).

Overall, I'm glad to be on board. Wish I would've seen this sooner, honestly.

I highly doubt the Microtransactions will Ruin the game.

Chris said that they're Purely Cosmetic items.

First things first: Welcome aboard, Exile!

Second things: A lot of us support GGG exactly because of their integrity. They have raised $2,2m so far on that alone. I think it's safe to say that what they say will be what they do, because it works for them and us.


That said, prepare for PoE to be a bit of tough love. The game does not hold your hand. It's perfectly possible you bite the dust in the starting areas (well, maybe not the very first one), and have trouble finding your footing.
If you want to be prepared, look around the forums for a bit, there are some excellent FAQs and beginner guides. Although they're written for CB, and the client update makes some changes, the basics are still very valid.

On the other hand, learning the ropes by yourself can be very rewarding. Just don't expect to get through the first difficulty without a hitch.
