How good is attack speed vs flat damage %?

I was talking about the bandit quest reward, there is no mention of the actual value of physical damage or attack speed given as a reward.

Yup, the bandit quest gives either 4% attack speed or 12% physical damage.
well then its a no-brainer, phys damage is the way to go :P

Hopefully it remains the same from alpha to OBT. :}
but is there also the oppurtunity to kill all and get the passive point? if it is i would chose the passive point instead of a bit dmg or something... in closed beta i chosed everytime the hp bonus... so i can get more hp with the passive point

Yup, you can kill all, but 12% physical damage is too hard to resist for me if you are a caster, 4% Cast Speed good too.
hmm i guess i am going for 6 endu charges with full hp nodes and hp reggen nodes, no dmg passives and do 2h sweep + heavystrike dmg and if necassery i weapon swap for 1h + shield i guess these extra points could let me achieve some keystones earlier
Looks like I'm taking more attack speed. Doing a GS build. Thanks for the feedback.

btw as a physical dmg based character using sweep and heavystrike as main dmg abilities, it is always better to increase physical dmg instead of attack speed... its pretty simple to understand that, the higher your physical hit is the more armor dimnishes, its the same way we would get high hits... so its always better to hit harder to bypass armor than attacking faster and not bypass that much

+1, it also gives you a higher stun rate
