Max character slots?

I searched the forum here and the only responses I saw were things like 24, 25, etc. That number seems incredibly high for a free to play game that offers additional character slots in the micro transaction store. What is the max number, and does GGG plan on decreasing it to maybe encourage players to buy additional character slots?

At the moment you can create more chars than 24. They don't care about it now.

So everyone should reduce their characters down to 24? Will it just cut off the bottom of the list if it exceeds 24?

no, these are max FREE char slots, if you bought more you keep them

lol why would anyone need more than 24 :D That's ridiculously high, thanks!!
I mean, for me Act 1 was samey same, nothing majorly interested me, only a couple of bosses. I'm finding it hard to want to re-roll another character personally. |

It seems odd of GGG to offer bank slots for 30 currency, when i can make 23 *storage characters*.
I counted to 1 bank slot = 3,5(?) Storage Characters. Which adds +6 bank slots just from having 23 *storage characters*. And why even buy more character slots when max is 24 anyway. I see a serious flaw here, as 6 characters would suffice for most people (1 of each class). And more slots available for purchase to keep the servers going. races, ladders, it will fill up a character list quickly once ladders and races start happening more frequently

it 24 becase this games has differant leagues that you cant swap chars about..
so you can have (example) 5 in each league ...thats 4 leagues with 4 chars slots left over! Leagues at moment Default, Hard Core, legacy(soon no more!) New leagues comming Open Beta! ... Cut throat , PvP , clan , Private leagues , Race leagues! ....>.. maybe custom (no FFa loot?) how knows what GGG will do ??
