Spider Forest Boss - Zombie-Cast-On-Death-DoT

This DoT dmg is OP. Yes, I found a counter-play for it as melee.

Next time, please be more specific in the patch notes. I think this is material for all players, and have a tremendous impact on hardcore players.

The Blacksmith's (Dunes and Spider Forest Maps) Leap Slam has been given a cooldown and a new triggered effect has been added to it."

This is not a minor content when it does over 9000 damage. Should be more like...

"Major Features/Content:

The Blacksmith's (Dunes and Spider Forest Maps) Leap Slam has been given a cooldown, and unpon landing summons plagued zombies. (Caution to hardcore players when first encounter this boss after the patch)"

Luckily I'm not on and HC league but still I got surprised by "minor" that change.
Now it can do a lot more damage and still leaps quite a lot.
I'm using a summoner build (and was running the Spider Forest map) and I saw my 8 zombies and 2 specter beign wiped in about 5 seconds just beacuse a couple of those new zombies that he spawns with his leaps. My zombies have 4000+ hp but still get killed in so few time that's impossible to me kill him because:
1) the chaos damage is too high (at least I use CI so I don't risk too much)
2) can't "aim" just the boss with my minions, even not counting him jumping all around (which were already quite annoying without that AoE chaos).

Now is even worse than piety in Temple, there I can at least spam my skeletons in a kamikaze way.

I have yet to see them nerf a boss. Whenever there's a "minor change" to one, avoid until you see a video or approach with extreme caution. They don't buff lightly.

I can see this being an issue for some 'middle-ground' characters.

Funnily enough, that's the type of character I normally play, balanced, not min/maxed.

But in PoE I tend to play different.
Either a tanky, high life, high regen, meh dps character.
Or a glass cannon.

One doesn't give a damn about the leap or HS or the zombies (even with -60 chaos, regen > chaos res).
The other kills him before he heals so there never is a stage 2 :).
Casually casual.

Could it be a bug after recent damage over time changes?
I've recently had more problem than before with most sources of DoT...

By the way with this particular boss you can use those zombies to proliferate shock or freeze toward the boss, keep the distance from his minion and the fight become "doable".
The damage from this poison is just ridiculous. Lvl 80, almost instantly died to it when I ran the dunes map. I did it again today, lvl 82, and facetanked him instead. Was almost a complete succes untill someone got a little too far away from him and he leapslammed. 1 zombie dies and again, I almost instantly die. I got lucky and portalled out with 10hp left. from 5k+ to 10hp in like what, 2 seconds? This is insane. This boss was fine. They just ruined it. Now we have yet another map where people just skip the boss.

I think it is a bad move on their part as well for not putting this in the patch notes. This is not a minor change, especially not for hc players.

He is a boss fight that you are pretty much forced to face tank or spend 5 minutes kiting if you are playing someone like ranger

HIs leap has a very high CD
Just did this map in a party, and everyone died, i was last man standing. I noticed that my 20% life leech from almost 23k dps did not give me any regeneration at all.

Is it that much chaos damage over time that i don't get life back or is my life leech stalled, because i noticed that when i walked out of the fight, engaged other monsters, i was insta-full life again.

Anyone else has this no-life-leech thing happened to them on this spider forest map?
