Unwavering Stance and Shields

I was planning on playing using Unwavering stance in my "tanky" marauder build but after reading the mechanics thread I have an unanswered question regarding shield mechanics and unwavering stance; and in some regards a broader question on shields in general.

Unwavering stance says "Cannot evade enemy attacks, cannot be stunned"

So the question is based on what 'evade' means. While it's pretty clear the evasion chance/rating become rather null and void with this ability does the shield also suffer at all?

In another thread that lightly touched on the subject someone stated that block recovery would be useless since you won't ever have to 'recover' from a block since only 'stunning blocks' would cause that mechanic to trigger, is this true?

Maybe I'm grouping things that aren't meant to be grouped (block and evade) but from my experience in tanking in other games (*cough* wow *cough*) "evasion" was a blanket term for dodge/parry/block* (*sometimes block was regarded as mitigation, falling into the same category as armor).

Just curious because the answers to these questions will deffinetly affect how I build my passive skill tree.

When you cannot Evade, you cannot Evade. That's it. You can still Dodge, Block, etc.
PoE is very exact in its wording :)

You go into Block Recovery if you block a hit that would have otherwise triggered Stun. The Mechanics thread has information on what triggers Stuns, but the short version is; a hit Stuns when it exceeds X% Maximum Life in one blow. Bears are rather likely to Stun.
Unwavering means you are never Stunned, so it should also stop all Block Recovery.
Evasion and block chance are two different things. Unwavering stance is great for people who plan on using shields because it removes the need to pick up any block recovery passives.

Evade applies to evasion (dex gear and everyone gets a 5% chance to evade) so with US, this is all removed.

Block and stun are basically the same thing so it removes the stun from both of this mechanics.

Block is different than evade so you can use it with US and it won't remove your block chance.

Only "stun" you can't avoid with US is from mobs using shield charge i.e. rhoas.

It might be the crack talking but I'm fairly certain US ignores shield charges or anything else that tries to induce a stun. I vividly remember the sheer joy of standing in the middle of a pack of rhoas and sweeping with abandon without a single stun.
