Shadow- Viperstrike build

Passive Tree 2 Main focus with the build is DoT, high life and high dodge. Have I missed something? I was thinking on running these skillgems/supports: Chest Viper- Increased duration Chance to flee Melee splash/multistrike/faster attacks? Enhance Blood magic/Culling strike? Helm Tempest Shield- Blind Lifeleech Reduced mana Boots Cast when Damage Taken- Cold snap Elemental profiliation Increased area of effect Gloves Whirling Blades- Faster Attacks Reduced Duration Life gained on hit Shield Vitality- Temporal Chains- Reduced Mana Main hand 3L Devouring Totem- Increased Area of effect Faster Casting/Increased duration? But I'm wondering about the synergy between VS and meleesplash/multistrike? My first choice would be multistrike due to dishing out more stacks faster with chance to flee proccs. As it will have no real lifeleech viability I chose to pick up Vitality, but is it more effectiv for a dodge build to run Grace aura? Hey there.
Since 1.0.3 is released i have WAITED for a Viper Build ;) Your Build looks good enough to worth a try. I will try it on Nemesis new Born Shadow. 1. Passive Tree 1 is better i guess. I have there the feeling its more "well rounded" between dmg and hp/block/dodge. 2. U have 3 Cyrcle nodes with +x%chaos dmg. I guess you should add a +c dmg Gem to Viper AND I personaly find Whirling Blades suxx. I will change this for Cyclone. So i preffer to try this: Chest: Viper (Duration dont increase the Damage, so far i know. And with Insane Ats we dont need duration to get the Stacks up) add Chaos Damage Multistrike Faster Attacks Enhance Blood Magic/Culling/what ever :) Gloves: Cyclone Add Chaos Damage Life Gain on Hit Faster Attacks The Question is just, what a Weapon... Dagger? Nah no Crit nodes, so bad choice. Claw? Well Possible, but we are more fokused on Dot/Chaos Damage so the "extra" leech dont give us many. So the only Possible Choice for Viper is then Swords. So a Hard hitting with good ATS Weapon should be mince Choice then. Well, i will try this Build out with the few changes i posted. I reworked the first Tree abit. Saved 1 Point, get rid of these stupid Frenzy Charge+duration, noone needs for the Build and got 2 Dex nodes for them.

" This is Shit for Viper. You took Crit + Phys dmg nodes. And Viper Profit to less from that. U skipped Phase and so on. Not a well thought Build. And Meele Splash suxx too on Viper, when u dont get a decent amount of phys. nodes. AND Viper still have only the base Dmg + Dot. No Multiplier from start. And Meele Splah wont splash the Dots around, so its useless too. |

" I was also wondering about this, should you for the hell of it pick up a wpn with firedamage, as the DoT nodes should also improve the eventual burning dmg? Something like Rebuke of the Vaal... What other stats on items other than life and tri-res should you be looking for on gear? Thank you for the feedback, I'll def pick up meelesplash(as mtnt23 said it will splash viperstrike to surrounding mobs but we will have to test it out ;) ) and multistrike instead of incr duration then. =) New Passive tree I did start my shadow today in nemesis, felt good. Got halfway through A2 without any real problems. I chose to head towards the northern DoT nodes as there are several easy lifenode pickups and early int/str for gems. " Yea I fear for that aswell, I was thinking about when you max out your build pick up loads of regen nodes as you will have a shiton of life. And rely on 1-3 flasks, devouring totem and liferegen =). first: when u go the upper way to reach the +30int node, near the shadow starting area, why the hell u dont pick up the +20str/+12%life node? u miss dat, dat is awesome for 1 point! second: get rid off these 2 little block nodes (2%block +30%deff from shield) alone they are weak. i will save the 2 points and will spend them in the -%mana reserve nodes, down the first chaos cyrlce and top side, near the CI is a +26%auras u cast and again 5% reduce. so with these little cyrcles we have: -20% reduced mana reserve +34% stronger aura effect, we cast +12% aura radius that + reduce mana for tempest and the other auras, MAYBE allow us to run 1 aura more, a low level clarity 4 example. because: we cant leach mana from mind drinker (we dont have good phys dmg)and to spend a mana leech gem... mhhh dunno exactly now, how we should fix the mana prob. maybe u have a idea for it? i mean ll+bm will cost our viper 2 supp gems. and here again, we dont have enough "raw" dmg to profit from the leech more then we lose to the BM gem. Tell me what u think about the "new" tree and the mana prob. Light Edit: starting act2 now, cant wait to get lvl 19 and get a 3 link GRR for Viper+Splash (i will test it ;) ) and multi Edit2: was looking for some light res for the intruder boss. Beast was a good choice to do!

My Shadows is planed to be trapper but while leveling I'm using Viper Strike with Melee Splash and I looks ok with a claw. For my preference I'm using the faster once. Cheers, P.S. I'm still low level and this is just observation up to this point. |
