While this is true, don't be afraid to us an alch here and there on key pieces you need. They are rare, and are better used for trading later, but by the time you get to where it's a necessity you'll have found several more along the way. But yes, +1 on not using anything above an alch to craft decent gear.

What? I have 75% resists across the board (except chaos). The build almost immediately provides you with 42% all elemental resists.

I was just giving an example. I'm not saying that's what you did. I've seen where some people try to follow a build exactly but they don't have the gear to do it. Their gear has no resists but they put all of their points into a DPS node. Therefore they're going to die a lot and get frustrated.

I don't have a lot of builds but what I do is; I know what I want to do with the build but i alter it slightly based on my gear. For example, my Domination build doesn't have a high DPS weapon and I was about to fight Dominus, so I went into my DPS node sooner than I wanted to. My attacks were using to much mana and i wanted to carry only one mana flask so i added so man regen on my tree. I still have 6 respec points and two regrets so I can always get those points back. By having more DPS and life flasks, I only died to Dominus twice when i expected to die way more often. Sometimes you have to build your tree according to your gear just to stay alive. Hopefully that explains what I meant.

I agree with a lot of what Rivenaleem stated, but I play solo. This is my pattern for playing
