Why do rappers laugh for no reason?
" Interesting, so the absurdity of their laughter is supposed to reflect the absurdity of life and their nonsensical laughter is a form of revolt against their own existence. Kind of like how Sisyphus constantly rolls the boulder up the hill despite the fact that it's going to roll back down again. Unlike Sisyphus however, the rapper's absurdity is self-imposed. He could choose to ignore the absurdity of life, like a lot of people do, but he doesn't. Instead, he chooses to emphasize the absurdity by doing absurd things which people think are stupid and pointless. This is his revolt against life. IGNs-

Whatever!!!! it is that makes you think, you can diss, like some kind of shrink, makes me sad, Not so bad, but think of it like this, rappers aren't people who drink, or belong to one specific fad, though some do wish, but instead use rap as a communicative wink, from lad to lad, to say those things that some don't get, with their head so bent, out of place, you think it's a laugh, ha-ha, well now my son, looks like your mind is spent, so I shall say ta-ta, and goodly-bye, I hope you die, not a death laid flat, but on the stage a tomato going splat, are you some kind of ol' fart, that can't appreciate a simple form of art?
I dunno, I guess it depends whether you like the rapper rather than whether you like the laugh. |

Having taken a few linguistics courses out of pure interest;
University of Calgary- A prototypical rap song involves a spoken narration by an inner-city African American adolescent, accompanied by an electronic rhythm. In general, the rapper is considered authentic, hence acceptable, only to the extent that he/she is able to narrate personal (often harrowing) experiences of ghetto life. So like a normal conversation, you would express your emotions (the point of most rap songs). The concept is ingenious actually.
