Poll: Monster life number display
Should numbers be shown on the monster life bars?
|
Maybe do it but leave players choice in options menu on/off.

I dont really need the full Life Information of an Monster. But if there would be a marker at the 10% life border it would be much more easy to know when the best moment is to use cullingstrike :D. I often use Power Siphon to early and its a really slow spell to cast. sometimes i dont have a second try ;-).

Hi Dev's
So glad to see a forum posting on this topic. This game doesn't need floating numbers it just makes the game tacky. If it was a option to put on this feature I myself wouldn't use it and equally don't see the fascination in this floating number idea. I do a critical on a monster and it bursts bodily goo's that all the ''floating numbers' I need to know. Ultimatum: Offer this feature in the shop as a add on, if people want floating numbers they should pay for it and not have you hardworking Dev's doing something not wholly integral to the dynamics of this game. Keep up the awesome work Dev's Conan: Crush your enemies. See them driven before you. Hear the lamentations of their women.

that would be good to allow players to display the full hp number.
mainly because there is no way to get information about rare boss max HP number and you don't want to waste 1 point in 10% chance to shock on lightning +45% schock duration if you realize that your damage are too low to proc it on these mobs with the 1% lightning dmg of full life requirement... |

The only issue I would have is that it has to be optimised well. Chat is already causing problems and I really don't want to have any more issues with FPS. If it works fine I'd 100% be wanting this. It doesn't just make it easier to see what HP enemies have left, it helps to see where enemies are as there are many clusterfucks about with all the spell effects (especially me being a melee Shadow). I can sometimes go in to loot/attack mobs and have chunks of my life go missing because I can't see what's going on!

Sorry, I like to have as much information being displayed as possible. It's a necessity, and the option for it should be included

I think that disallowing it would just make shady grey hatters like me find a way to statistically calculate the numbers anyway and I would then be at an advantageous position compared to other players or share it.
By letting that happen it is far more likely a third party UI will be made without your knowledge. Heck, DevMoon has made his own little program showing his standing in races. I think third party UI programs are far too hard to completely avoid so it should not count as a reason for or against monster-data. I would go even a step further and make at least some of the data on the "same level monster" you use for calculating the numbers on the information sheets ingame available for players in the game mechanics thread to make it easier for players to calculate how different builds do in different situations! If you do not make the numbers available I would expect someone to post them in half a year or a year from now. The only argument for keeping data back is to delay the spreadsheet players from taking over and that is far easier to do by content-patching often than just withholding information. I appear to be living in "Romance Standard Time". That has to be good! :)
