Orb of chance and itemlevel

I just had a quick question about chancing a unique and the itemlevel required.

For example: Andvarius ring requires ilvl 71 Gold Ring to spawn, according to gamepedia. But is this only from drops or also from using orb of chance, do you need an ilvl 71 gold ring to chance it ino an andvarius?
I think the only requirement is the base level requirement of the unique. So if the unique reads "Requires level 54" then the item you need is the same base item (white) that is item level 54 or above.

I could be wrong. I'd love to know the correct answer if I am.

Andvarius is a level 8 required gold ring. I am pretty sure that ANY gold ring should be capable of becoming one. If that is incorrect... well I'm amazed by that.

Edit: To clarify, this does not mean Andvarius can DROP in a level 8 ZONE... but I mean that you should be able to CHANCE one from any gold ring.

This is what I was thinking as well. As long as the base item is the same you can chance it into a unique, but you cant find the unique unless it drops from a ilvl of that ilvl.

I do need confirmation tho before I start throwing tons of chances and scours out of the window! :D
Nobody knows?

That's what I'd expect, from the 'nature' of this special requirement.

"The Orb of Chance can now generate Uniques that are higher than the itemlevel of the base type you're trying to roll."

From what I understand of this, is that the itemlevel of the item can be lower than the level of the item it is going to have when its chanced into a unique.

What I was intersted in finding out; is it possible to for example chance a Voltaxic Rift, which require a ilvl 78 to spawn via drop, from a spine bow which has a lower ilvl than 78?

yes you can now chance spine bows and glorious plates and siege axes into their respective uniques without having them be the item level of the unique they are being chanced into.
i would have a confirm too, before chance a lot of them.

i would to chance an eye of chayula and a spine bow, any level is good?

you can chance an ilevel 8 gold ring into an andi.

the higher ilevel reqs on the map only uniques only applies to drops

chances can be used successfully to get said uniques as long as the base item is the proper ilevel (which in almost every case the unique and the base item are the same ilevel)

so a ilevel 68 glorious plate can become a kaoms heart

one thing to know is that the rarer unique items are harder to chance (yes chance orbs have variable success rates on items)

just as long as the base itemlevel of the item matches or exceeds the base item level of the unique . you can chance it
