Looking at Mortal Online with global PvP where death makes you lose everything, that seems a little too extreme for me. Set one foot out, dead. Respawn, dead.

If you're into town simulation games, try Anno 2070.

As for me, I've been playing Minecraft with tons of mods. I use IndustrialCraft with lots of addons, Buildcraft, Mystcraft, and other things.

Can't wait for OB. ;_;

Haven't heard that name in a long time - I remember beta testing Mortal Online back in...2009 I think it was. Didn't stick around for long at the time, as lag was a serious issue (playing from the US) and trying to survive as a lone wolf was...difficult. Trying to get stuff done, particularly early on, was a right pain - trying to level skill in using bows, but the arrows only go a few feet at first...or having all your stuff pickpocketed and you never knew it because your intelligence stat wasn't high enough. I remember there being 4 or 5 people constantly stealing from others around the stash type area. Seemed like you were better off literally living off the land or having a group of friends to watch your back. And, it being fairly early on, a lot of systems were incomplete or non-existent. Still, a wonderful concept and a beautifully brutal game.

As for the games I'm playing - delving into the Illuminati storyline in The Secret World (love the concept, world/environment, and overall atmosphere, much as I did with Age of Conan, even if some of the systems leave something to be desired), playing some more Skyrim, mixing in some Civ 5 and FTL while waiting for next week.
I'm mostly playing World of Tanks at the moment. I don't know why I'm so addicted to it, maybe it's the rush I get after a well played round (I'm at best an average player most of the time). Or it's the feeling of accomplishment you get when you open a new tank or your crew unlocks a new skill. Or both.

I played quite a bit of Mortal Online yesterday and did some research, my opinions on it are simply:

1) SOME horrible textures, SOME amazing textures, a weird mix of the two when played on ultra settings.

2) A rather enjoyable and rewarding skilling / crafting / leveling / looting process.

3) Lots of suspense, tension, and joy at times due to the fact any player can attack you at any time.

You mentioned about how leveling skills is a pain, but it's actually easy to level skills! You can purchase books in the starter town that automatically level up your skills, so long as you're reading them, and you gain levels even whilst offline. Books cost money, and money is incredibly easy to come by for beginners, the starting mobs are I believe called "Springboks", and for every ten you kill, you get "10,000 carcasses" which sell for 2 Gold each stack (10,000 is a stack) and a book is anywhere between 10 silver and 2.5 gold. Next time you play, I advise killing some Boks with a melee weapon, selling the carcasses (you'll need a donkey because they can carry 5 stacks at a time, you probably can't even carry 1 stack, people sell donkeys for 2 gold each) to players, and then buy an archery book and AFK / go offline until you're able to do so.

You can AFK mine ore, woodcut logs, and fish fish, and this levels up other skills simultaneously (I.E leveling up mining increases your Str, End, Int, Mining, Pathology, Gathering, Material lore, and Ore levels). You can only have up to 1100 levels per character, so you have to really pay attention to what you're leveling.

Unfortunately, you miss out on approximately 50% of the content (I.E you can only level skills up to 60 if you don't pay, 100 if you do, and you can't work on really cool skills like Thievery) unless you actually subscribe to the game ($15 a month), so I'll have to edit that in the OP I suppose.
I just received my japanese Xbox a week ago so i m currently eating a LOT of bullets on the Dodonpachi Daifukkatsu Black Label , especially on the Ketsui mode wich is simply AWESOME !

I eat a little less off bullet on Bullet Soul tho...good game but it misses something to really hook me up. Maybe a bit too easy with not enough scoring complications ?

Can t wait to get my hands on the Cave shooting collection pack wich should be released around feb/march <3

Just figured I'd provide a bit more feedback on Mortal Online, as I played it a bit further and I feel like my opinions on it have changed, and you guys really ought to hear about it, plus bumping this thread for more gaming suggestions in general is a nice bonus.

Mortal Online, as I've probably said twice now, has a lot of good things going for it like its uniqueness and freedom within the game (you can be attacked by and can attack any other player you want at any given time, there's a wide variety of skills, you can take over cities as a guild and even build houses/forts/towers within the real persistent world, etc). However, it's certainly not worth subscribing, due to the fact it has a ridiculous amount of glitches / bugs, disconnection issues, and an overall clunkyness (worse than Morrowind) within the game.

So we've decided that it's not worth subscribing ($15 a month, same as EVE or WoW), but is it worth playing for free? If you can look passed the above issues, and you can look passed the fact everyone that is subscribing has literally TWICE the skills you do (without paying, you can only get to level 60 in skills, where as subscribers can level to 100 in skills) and are therefore much more successful and at an advantage at killing you, and if you can look passed the rather cruel and immature community, then yes I suppose it is worth playing for free. But quite frankly, I'd rather spend my time playing PoE.

The company in charge of Mortal Online has made some good decisions recently. Originally the game was ONLY subscription based with no free options, then they made it freemium, then they lessened a few of the restrictions set on the free to play players. If they continue to go this route and make free to play players have access to all content (change their entire payment model in general) and work vigorously on polishing the game (graphics, glitches, and all), then I could easily see this as one of the best MMORPGs out in the market.
Been playing mostly Sleeping Dogs and Torchlight 2 (synergies mod helped me get back to TL2) as of late while waiting for OB launch.
Sometimes you can take the game out of the garage but you can't take the garage out of the game.

If you put on your full plate mail, and I throw hundreds of toothpicks at you, you'll basically not feel it.

If someone catapults a whole tree at you, don't expect the Armour to prevent as much of the damage.
Dota 2 :)
