Games to play while waiting for Open Beta

Whether you're not interested in stalking the forums for a beta key, not interested in dishing out cash for a free to play game, or you just simply don't want to play the game due to the fact your characters will all be reset on the January 23rd, this is the thread to go to if you're looking for interesting games to try out whilst waiting for the open beta. I'll personally make an effort to point out Free To Play games more so than Pay To Play games.

1) Path of Exile - C'mon you know I had to put it here. Learn the available zones and spells, and perfect your talent trees before the Open Beta launches!

2) Planetside 2 - Free to Play MMOFPS, I personally put many hours into this game, very fun.

3) Mortal Online - Free to Play First Person Sandbox MMORPG with a lot of cool qualities like an Open World PvP Without Restrictions set up (You can attack anyone at any time, and if someone dies, their items are gone), unique crafting systems, and the ability to create your own guilds and shops. To achieve 100% of the content, you really need to pay ~$15 a month unfortunately.

4) The Humble Indie Bundle 7 - I personally got a lot of hours out of Dungeon Defenders and Legend of Grimrock. Plan on getting lots more from those and the Binding of Isaac

5) Dark Souls: Prepare To Die Edition - Very enjoyable, yet notoriously difficult video game with over hundreds of hours of gameplay.

Photoshop, as I am mostly seen drawing stuff if I'm not busy playing a game.

Chess

It is very enjoyable even as a complete beginner if you just do a quick checkup first for some basic ideas( and the rules ofc if you don't know them). Youtube is a good place. Lots of 10min short videos that go over some of the basic concepts and gives some advice for how to think when developing pieces and evaluate trades.

With just a little bit of understanding Chess becomes a whole new game and very fun.

I'm just now getting around to playing bioshock for the first time. Heard it was a pretty good game.
