Ideal Build for Steam-Rolling mobs? (SPEED FARMING)
Whassah!!!
I'm making the transition from Diablo 3 to Path of Exile. I'm pretty late in the game and doubt that I will learn enough before the last official wipe. In Diablo 3, I played a WW Barb. Not because I enjoyed it so much, but it was the most efficient in terms of farming loot for my other characters. Is there a popular speed farming build out there via POE? Thanks |

Welcome to Wraeclast
If you're going to be building a hardcore character, you should probably focus on staying alive and learning to play defensively otherwise this game will faceroll you over & over again. There are virtually hundreds of powerful builds to discover & play. Blasphemous HC-SSF Path of Exile 2 enjoyer.

" Why not try playing a build you'll enjoy instead of the most efficient one? The super-efficient builds of the closed beta are going to get an overhaul on the OB launch. You could try the summoner (good for HC) or perhaps an elemental damage oriented templar, if you prefer playing in default. From what I understand, these two will get almost no changes, but then again I don't have access to the alpha so I can't say for sure. |

the summoners are not the fastest farmers but it is pretty efficient and fairly safe, you sit back and let them do the killing while maybe dropping some aoe fire dmg.
skills like flicker strike and leap slam teleport the hero to the target. these increase movement speed around the map but only provide essentially single target dps (leap slam is aoe but moreso most effective on single target due to the teleport) For good speed farming you will need to get a mix of very strong aoe, while having a high single target dps or a way to provide burst dps to higher hp mobs. taking a templay and using leap slam while pumping out some spork totems occould be viable depending on the incoming nurf to dual totems. ( which I think won't make it un usable just less over powered.) |

The problem with picking just one..is..well..a very complicated Skill Tree. I think of it as a forest.
That being said, I like the Marauder. High single mob dps, good life refresh. high hit points, high armor class... that being said, that all depends on how you navigate the skill forest. He is the only one of my characters to never die. In the skills he went for high life regen, high elemental resistance and high armor class. but my friend goes witch for high AOE damage to kill lots of mobs at once. but he has trouble with bosses. My marauder kicks bosses you know what. my other friend likes to farm with a necromancer (witch). while his mob kills he examines all the drops. but really discovering is part of the game. try them all and pick what you like. The way they do skills is so complicated there will be more then one type of build that is good at a task. |
