Any PoE fans into horror films/games?

Just watched Sinister, and: Great score, a bit predictable (but what isn't in this genre?), I loved the atmosphere. Well, my father used to film in Super 8 (went digital three years ago :-D), and the sounds, the pictures - very reminiscent of childhood. Well, without that many dead people.

Soooo, Insidious...?

Insidious is also brilliant imo, give it a watch

Already done :-D. I loved the camera work in that one (all in all, I appreciate quirky camera work, it's why I am fond of many Guy Ritchie films). Also, chilling atmosphere! Plucked all the right strings for me.

I don't mind murderous plants too much or some crazy gene experiment. For me, the horror is in not understanding, not being able to grasp something: "nothing/not knowing is scarier". Those scenes where those figures only moved when the movement could not be seen. So scary-good, my hair stood on end with those. Yes, I love the Angels of the Whoniverse, too!

They appear similar to jump scares, but they are not. You know *something* is there, you can even see it. The horror only comes when you can no longer see it. Brilliant, indeed! It's also about control and losing it. God, I'm still shivering. Gotta watch that again. Or maybe watch something light to recuperate first...

Anyway, Insidious made me think of the Grudge. The original Japanese, not the Americanized version. Funny thing, I can make the grudge sound with my vocal cords (approximately), led to a very funny (for me) scene with my then-girlfriend. She had paused the film, you see, because I had gone to the kitchen to get us something to eat...
