How big is the game world?
Thanks everyone for your replies. I'm thinking i'll drop the 10$ to support this game it seams very interesting indeed. And even if it turns out that after finishing all 3 act's i'm bored at least I can say it was 10$ well spent to support a great game unlike another game I won't mention that I had to spend 60$ on.

You are very welcome. When I first looked at the passive skill tree when I was a noobie PoE player it looked a little intimidating but after watching the excellent character build video I was able to understand the flexibility of it. Now that I've watched some of Kripparrian's other videos to see how he uses totem's for both offensive and defensive purposes and gain insight into character builds that work at higher difficulty levels I'm going to really enjoy Act III and starting over with my new knowledge.
PoE is a refreshing change from the locked down limited choices way of D3. It is going to take me a very long time to understand all the skills in the passive tree (forest) and how I can use them to build a high level character. But the beauty of PoE is that the options are there for me to explore and experiment with. Sure, there will be some builds that work better than others but I'm not locked into a rigid narrow path (like the runes of D3 only unlocking at specific levels). I'm sure I won't burn through this game in a few months and be bored with it. If we all contribute financially to GGG then the devs. will be producing new acts every 8 to 12 months to keep PoE alive and well for the 10 years (or more) that producer Chris Wilson envisions for it. The fact that PoE is not produced by a huge game company that must cater to the stockholders and the corporate must make money at all costs mentality means that the the GGG devs. are free to persue their visions of how to create and build a true and worthy successor to D1 and D2. I hope that the OB is wildly successful and we (all dissatisfied D3 players) can stick it in ActiBlizzard's face. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..." " Oh yeah no kidding I was blown away by the whole map system! I love that you can upgrade the various maps with stats you want. I have gone ahead and dropped the 10$ so I can mess around with beta :) And if it's as fun as it seams I'll probably get the 25$ deal! |
