An idiot's guide to understanding the poe economy

Don't participate in any lotto that pays than what it costs or is selling for.

Why would you give someone your fusings to win 5exalts when you could 6link your own chest and sell it for say 15?

Any decent moderator should close this, as your tone is clearly disrespectful.

But just to answer you wall of nonsense:

-what if you're not willing to trade ? Or to spend weeks waiting for THE trade of your life?

-what build would you propose that will work above lv60 without at least a 5-linked item, which is still pretty difficult to obtain yourself ? Don't even mention BoR (I have one, and pretty anything works with it, which is borderline ridiculous).

- believe or not, loot is not the issue. The issue is to craft ANYTHING with 5/6-link so your build can perform at high levels. Obviously any "experienced elitist" buy/trade such items, why would you spend currencies in a nonsensical lottery system ? How is that different from D3, beside the AH ? PoE is very fun, so much more than D3. But at high level, you hit the same wall, just not in terms of loot, but the crafting you need for your loot.

i play without a 5 link and still easily go through maps. using spectral throw of course
Best economy last only for one month and that's in the new leagues, maybe 3weeks. After that it starts to go poopu poopu.

Good day [Removed by Admin]. I am an experienced player who has been inside Poe since closed beta and full time troll. When I am not soloing high level maps and becoming filthy rich I like to pepper General with my charm.

I noticed some of you were complaining about the economy today. Poor souls! If you can't understand a simple video game's economy what hope is there for you to ever understand the REAL WORLD'S economy and function in it?

Well fear not, by the time you are done reading this post you will understand the poe economy!

-Prices of all items and orbs in poe are roughly fixed by supply and demand. You can buy items
for below market value if you are willing to be patient and shop for a good deal. You can sell
items for above market if you are willing to wait for an impatient (or ignorant customer)

-Orb prices can be learned by looking at poestats or simplying looking at vendor recipes.
Prices of low-mid level rares almost never exceed 2 chaos. Price of high level rares are determined by the number of 'good' rolls on them. They have very consistant prices so its easy to learn. If you see a chest piece with 3 good rolls on it and it sells for X orbs than a
similr level chest piece with 3 good rolls on it will also sell for X

-In general it is best to sell items that a low demand at the earliest possible time, even
if you have to take a low offer. When buying items that are in high supply it's best to
be selective and wait till you have a good deal.

-The reverse is also true. items of high demand you can wait days or even weeks to find a
buyer willing to pay high. Items

-If you dont know the price of an item you should not sell it or buy it.

-It's your own fault if you make a build that has a budget beyound what you can afford.
In general casters are cheap builds because all they are not as reliant on getting a powerful weapon. Archery is also somewhat cheap because it isn't a popular spec so bows are cheaper.
The worst build for a poor player is one that cannot function without a 6 link or certain expensive uniques. FOTM builds are also more expensive.

-If you are not swimmining in exalts you should forget about ever getting a 6 link.

Go away.

No really, GO AWAY.
Bad guide, it didn't even include the mandatory "Never 5-link or 6-link your gear yourself! Make instead a lottery to on average pay far less than you would have if you had fused it yourself".
