That is 6 linked sockets. Which means to say, it gets very difficult to upgrade gear on the way to end game, since you will almost never have 6 linked sockets on chest armour with the correct colours.

I'm currently just linking to 1 or 2 support gems at best, since I have low level gear. No point crafting gear as yet.

Nope it's 4 mate on my footwear to be exact. The additional properties come from the added quality on the inserted gems. :)

I've a 5 linked chest piece which I use for my fireball and supports :) not been lucky enough to find or craft a decent 6 link as of yet. hey ho.

about the they are not meant for having long life its wrong plz if you arent a 75+ dont comment on endgame minions

i know alot of summoner including me who rarly lose a zombie in a maprun just give your minions the best possible defence they could get

the shield is just one example add purity determination and vitality and discipline all combined with inner force and you have a sick tank

i dont even lose a zombie on mapbosses

Oh, sorry for my bad shortening! What I meaned was Minion Life ;)

@Ventiman: of course its possible to push (everything in the game) to (and sometimes above) the 'limits'... but even that doesnt mean that the general purpose and idea behind the minions (especially zombies) in POE is not to make/keep them immortal...

The Inner Force Nodes dont do anything for your minions, only for yourself. (See the Righteous Fire Build Post from Chris: You get the 30% more fire dmg on yourself, but you dont deal more dmg to monsters)

I think running purity is the best option to make the minions tankier.
Getting NecroA seems dangerous in HC, where you dont have the super high ES gear (especially 1k+ ES chests). I almost died in a lvl65 map with 100% light dmg from 1 hit (i only have 4,6k ES), not having a shield would have been lethal.

All I said was they they weren't MEANT to tank. My zombies and specters also rarely die and I use a completely different method than anything you described there.

Edit: I do run discipline but the rest are damage auras.

Minion (and spell totem) resistances are just too low.

It doesn't matter whether they are intended to tank or not. And how many minion passives you've taken is also irrelevant (excepting Necromantic Aegis, I guess, which is a fundamentally different sort of minion passive).

The point is the large discrepancy in minion survivability against normal mobs versus elemental damage dealing mobs.

I run with purity and discipline. My minions do pretty well most of the time. However, when I run into something like the elemental skeletons, my zombies blow up almost immediately.
Old minions never die... they just wander off and abandon you right before you run into a pack of angry monkeys.
