TURN OFF MY CHAT (I'm going crazy with whispers)

I don't know what the hell happened this passed 1-2 weeks but my account is getting nonestop whispers advertising real money transactions.

Ignoring them literally does nothing because their names are "wxfdsdfzdz" or some variation of it, clearly an account created SIMPLY to send out a wave of spam and to delete itself and create a new one.


I am NOT the only one. As soon as I see the spam come to me, I see several others in the general chat typing in rage as they were also spammed simultaneously as me.








I understanding solving the gold farmer issue is nearly impossible. What I DEMAND is an ability permemently shut these people up. WITHOUT shutting out my friends. I have taken several new people under my wing and help them out constantly. If I type /donotdisturb I go invisible to these people.


None stop I have this massive block of white text covering the bottom left of my screen. This isn't every few minutes.... This is every few SECONDS.

I might wonder how the spammers get names. Harvesting them from general chat, guild chat, or trade chat all seem possible. It also seems very likely that RMT site A might sell a list of purchasers to RMT site B.

And for the record, I think they get these names from the general and trade chats. It's incredibly easy for them because when they get your name, THEY HAVE IT PERMANENTLY. This game is structured so a whisper to the account name sends it to everyone. I used to love this concept, always able to reach friends. Now I hate it.



These robots have acquired a target and are relentlessly harassing me. Their is NOTHING I can do to stop them, short of turning off everyone and making this a single player game. Which it's not.
