Immortal Call and still taking damage?
The other day I was farming the Vaal construct and I had accumulated several endurance charges.. I used Immortal Call and combined with Increased Duration I was supposedly immune to damage for about 5 seconds. 2 seconds later Vaal zapped me with the little lightning beam thing and it brought me down to very low health (as per the usual WITHOUT immortal call)... What gives? I thought I was immune to damage? Or am I still taking damage but unable to actually die from it?

Immortal Call makes you immune to physical damage, not all damage.

Oh. Crap. Well that certainly reduces the usefulness of that skill. :(

There's also a period after the buff is applied where you can still take physical damage, so even if you cast it against pure physical enemies you can still die while the effect & buff icon are showing.

" You sound a bit new. But yeah, immortal call build is one of the least useful builds in this game. You spend a lot of gem slots and skill points to buff endurance charges and to execute that skill efficiently, costing on everything that you can use to boast your damage. |

I like immo call. I dont have that many problems with ele dmg and it allows me to tank stuff like lvl74 vaal smash. I have 7 end charges and get 12 secs of physical immunity

I don't totally agree with that. I've been experimenting with Immortal Call. My build is not centered around IC, but I do use it. Mostly as a life saver. My build focuses on Endurance Charge gained on Melee Stun supported by 15% improved quality Stun gem. I'm basically stunning everything I hit so I'm always running with 5 Endurance Charges. That is giving me a 85% - 90% damage reduction. Damage reduction doesn't work so great against big mobs, so every now and then I will use IC. It gives me a couple of seconds to focus on getting out of the mob and into a better position. For that, Immortal Call is great.

personally i found it too bothersome to use, my ek marauder has trouble dealing with elemental attacks rather than physical( i got 90% phys reduction and 77 all res)

" Yeah, this. :) lvl54, 5 charges for almost 6 seconds. I can tank the hell out of stuff if I need to. I prefer having the Endurance Charges though, for the resist buff (all resists at 77%, except Chaos, of course). Looks like someone missed their weekly meeting of Douchebag's Anonymous.
