[Suggestion] Images or symbols on skill gems
"Honestly.. your image has waaay too much going on. The screen should never, ever be that cluttered even if it's a toggleable option for those who choose it. The best option, imo, would be Mr_cee's suggestion of displaying the skill's hotbar icon on keypress similar to how sockets are displayed. The only problem with that is support gems don't have an icon. I imagine that can be easily rectified, though. Just look at all the skill icons and passive icons in the game. Someone at GGG is really good at making icons. I'm sure designing a few more would be right up their alley. In good time, of course. Also, bear in mind that the top right corner is reserved the 'plus' icon when a gem is ready to be leveled. ![]() Sure, you could you move your numbers around and have every corner cluttered but, again, that's way too much. Also, as I said a few posts up, displaying the quality of a gem is completely unneccessary. Armor, weapons and flasks can have quality too but we don't need that displayed. Some things are better left for the item description popup. And don't forget GGG's stance on UI clutter. They don't like it; they don't want it. " I agree to all that you said. I also didn't had in mind quality number or other numbers at the begining, but because was mentioned from some people I decided to try something about it. I still beleive though that just letters can be good. Maybe the letters may not stand up so much and be a little transparent. Something I beleve just needs to show where what skill is and if even showing the icons of the skills is the thing for begining - it may stay like that. Practicly - despite the nice gem icons - I prefer ugly icons, but just to know where is the skill I'm looking for between the dozens skill gems that look all the same. |
