100% fire resist is broken or ment to be?
ok..so we all know ther is a way to get 100% fire resist...but is it broken or it ment to be like it?
if someone dont know how v: 75 base 2 skill tree 5 aura [+2 aura lvl from alpha hat and +2 from empower get it to +5% resists] 10 fire resist flasl Rise of the Phoenix inique shield [+8 to max fire resist] so..it makes it 100%...i kinda sure some poeple have a way to pass it...so..what is it doing after 100? You become a fire god and it heals you. Just like D2 when you wore those hacked white rings where your total resist was over 100%, everything just healed you.

Divination adds 6 to max resists also, but it's not like you can use a ruby flask perpetually. Even with perpetual affix.

" I have all the Aura-Nodes on the tree^^. They give 99% increased effect (which means 5% are 9% since it is always rounded down, although buff effects should bring you to 10). With elemental adaptation you are already at 11% to two elements (well if you don't use reduced mana you can get all 3 off them). So with a Saffels you get 16% increased max-resists for all of them. 91% to all resistances seems nice :P. And getting a high Crit-Dagger or Wand would make refilling thoses flasks very easy. The downside however is that you can't do much else besides having high resistances although doing this with lightning-damage and lightning-coil would reduce all physical damage you take by insane amounts. |

A built with 91% resist all or even 100 with flasks where you can stand around doing nothing doesn't sound very broken. Especially if physical and chaos damage still cream you.

" Well Chaos-Damage propably does. Physical however does not. With Lightning-Coil and 91% Lightning-Resistance you are pretty durable vs. Physical Damage. Chaos Damage however will propably screw you, but is easier to avoid than physical damage. Considering that I already have 86% resistances people should also be warned that there are things that still hurt even with 86% resistances. But still a build featuring such high resistances and converting a part of physical damage to lightning-damage has a pretty tough defensive line. But he isn't even nearly invincible of course. |

Does sound tanky, doesn't sound broken. The topic if this thread is about capping fire resists breaking the game. A certainly related topic is very high resists breaking the game. So far no-one has shown that their ability to stand there and mostly not die is game breaking.

I thought there was a hard cap at 95%?
