[1.0.5] [Nemesis/Hardcore] Morgoth's Rain of Arrows Ranger

I made a thread earlier but this build write up is great, so first I want to say thank you as Rangers are not my usual character to play but I wanted to make one.

I'm currently level 73 and here's my current build:

Skill Tree (28 points remaining)

I'm having DPS issues and I think my build can match something more similar to yours.

After reading your gearing info, I see where I can upgrade but maybe you can give me some more insight on my current situation

Thank you so much!

Point Blank is usually a though question... I prefer not spec into it because I usually play in groups so I can shot from a fair distance, in that case point blank is not useful. I would say point blank could be chosen when playing solo, but I prefer to have a constant DPS, far or close. But this build can be played 100% with point blank for sure.

As for the phys damage nodes to the right : I tried many solutions to come up to that build, and I tried that one already. If I'm going for this wheel, I have to get rid of some other nodes (unless you're level 100, but that's not reasonable). In this case, here are the options : 1/ get rid of the duelist bow / attack speed nodes + leather & steel and spec those points into the ranger wheel down the right. The duelist area provides more dps than the other, and give a nice armor + movement speed boost. 2/ get rid of the strength node to Iron Grip & Iron Grip itself, and that's out of question considering the huge damage boost IG gives 3/ Respec the upper templar area with the int nodes and the two life rings (including the one with chaos res), and I highly dont recommend it in Nemesis, 4/ get rid of all the templar catalise-life-life regen-amplify line, which provides nice DPS (catalise-amplify) AND life and regen, so in terms of DPS and EHP, that's out of question too.

I did many respec to come up with that build, that may be personal but I really think it's not far from optimal.

Thanks for your feedback !

Thanks for the quick response!

I understand completely what you mean by the party/solo and personal play style personalization of the build. I'll follow your build to a point and try out my own feel/playstyle maybe. Its an amazing guide and a great foundation and overall end game guide too. For that thanks ^.^

There are a lot of room for improvment, but your main priority is your bow : the % physical is great but the flat damage mod is garbage, providing you only 175.56 physical DPS including the attack speed. If you want to crush on the end game, that's too low.

OP edited with my answer to the question relative to the Point Blank keystone (under "build fundamentals").

What's the benefit of going with your build as opposed to a "hybrid" damage type build (i.e. Lioneye's with Wrath/Anger + Proj. Damage nodes)?

Thanks for making the guide! It looks really good.

With a Lioneye's and wrath/anger (flat elemental auras, not %), you will simply have a lot less DPS. You're going full physical, you scale it with hatred, projectile damage nodes, physical damage with bows passives, attack speed.

Could this build be done with the BM passive and then respec out of it? also y take RT? not complaining cuz i like it but do u have a reason? and also would it be better to have more regen?
You can of course take BM and respec it afterwards, as I said in the build, respec points and orb of regrets are your friends. Keep in mind that you won't be able to run auras until you respec it (it's too dangerous) and that you would pick it up quite late (around 50 points to get there).

Resolute technique is a plain DPS boost as the build is not specing into crit and you won't need accuracy on your passives and on your gear with RT. It's just the better choice, especially since it only costs 2 points to get there as it's on the path anyway.

More regen is not needed IMO, it's always better to have more till you're caped, but the build worked fine that way.

Thanks for the guide. Been using this in Standard and having fun with it. Even with 5% base life leech and life leech on my ROA, I'm still having trouble with single-target damage though.

Also have you used http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Physical_Projectile_Attack_Damage since it came out in 1.0.3? Seems like it would work well with this build, but I'm still getting so much DPS from magic, it isn't a good fit for me yet.
