Keyboard macros against ToS?

Are keyboard macros, e.g. for opening a TP with a single keystroke, against the ToS? I couldn't find this information anywhere in the forums. Some gaming keyboards and mice have built-in macro recording and playback functions. Alternatively you could use some third party software like AutoHotkey. Additional nice-to-have macros could for example be:

-) /itemlevel command (maybe there will be a better solution for this in a future patch)
-) /ladder command
-) commands for quickly switching chat channels (global, trade, party, local, etc.)
-) repetitive chat texts, e.g. "Hi", "TP please", etc.
-) quitting the game with a single keystroke

I own a fully customizable macro mouse and macro keyboard.
I can program everything down to the last "10 ms" delays.
I can make my char dance with a button press.
Im concerned too.

Since its a gray area right now with *any 3rd party software simulating a player actions*.
Theres many threads on this already though and i raised this issue aswell, and got no solid responce as so far the devs seem to be thinking of how to handle the *3rd party software simulating player actions* issue.

Same here, Logitech G600 mouse and G710+ keyboard, which even has a dedicated hardware key for recording macros on the fly while in a game. I certainly do not want to get banned for using simple convenience macros like /itemlevel etc.

In my opinion it's not as much of a problem in a game of this kind as it is in MMO's.

I can hardly see it even giving you much of an advantage.

(I own keyboards with macro abilities but I have actually never even used it).

I didn't look much into this yet since there are not that much abilities and flasks I have to reach, but this is still a quality of life issue...

It would be nice to know what GGG think about this (if they haven't already made their point clear).

I don't think it'd be an issue, unless you're doing things to completely automate the game (i.e. scripts that allow you to autodrink flasks when dropping below a certain life threshold), etc.

Would be nice to get an admin weigh-in though.

I'd just like to be able to actually rebind my mouse-3 (middle mousekey), but since there are no way to currently do that in game, I really want to be allowed to use a keyboard macro for that particular key.


On that note, if anyone knows a way to do it, outside the keybinding menu, I'd be thrilled to know.

I'd consider that automation, because opening a tp (from a scroll) requires two actions from a player.


I would do this instead:

Key press: Opens inventory
Key depress: Right-clicks designated pixel where you keep your scroll.

You'd have to walk through it and close the inventory yourself.
