Elemental Staff Templar

Hiho, im new so i have a few Questions... i want to build a Staff Templar with elemental damage (Glacial Hammer etc).
Cause of this he shouldnt be dead the first time a monster hits him, i chose staff for style and 2h block chance.

Well however first question...can the elemental damage crit? and if yes, which crit i need normal or spell?

First of all 99 points are VERY hard to achieve... IMHO you should rather think around 80 points max (90 should be doable, but will alos take a lot of time).

Second: Glacial hammer etc. are still attacks (NOT spells) so you need the Weapon crits or the general crits (which works for both attacks and spells - e.g. the Bloodthirst cluster)

-it uses 'only' 90 points (which i still think is a LOT, but still more realistic than 99 ;))
-more str and dex with the same int
-far better block chance
-more life (both more base life because of higher str and slightly more +% life)
-more Endurance charges: they can be huge for your survival in the late game
-i changed the Arcane potency to Pure brutality, because for stuff like glacial hammer you need weapon crit, not spell crit
-though it loses some offense: a little phisical damage is lost and a bit cold damage (also quite a lot of freeze, chill duration have been dropped, but in my opinion those are the least important)

Good to see some more staff builds! I was thinking something similar myself. However I don't think I want to specialize in cold / Glacial Hammer. I was thinking of trying to mix it with one of the more popular lightening builds right now.
Anyone got an opinion on this? I'm only a few weeks old in this game.
