Best pair of builds for a 2-man party?
Hi,
I was wondering if people have suggestions for a pair of builds that will go together in a 2-man party. I'd like to be able to run maps and Merciless boss farming, etc, with one of my friends. It is not necessary that either of the builds is solo-viable, as long as each works well when playing with the other. Also, I don't have a lot of currency, maybe 1-2 exalts worth so far, so I'm looking for builds that don't rely on six links. So, any suggestions? Thanks in advance. |

No ideas? I had a few thoughts about the best two-man party for farming:
- One should be elemental and the other physical, to deal with reflect and with highly resistant enemies. - They should both be of the same defense type so that they can share defense auras (e.g. Determination/Grace/Discipline). |

Here's another idea: One should be a MF Culler and just survive while the other should be able to dish out tons of DPS and also survive.

For synergy I am thinking of:
1) Melee Duelist: 1H+Shield - build slightly tankier (and enduring cry acts as a taunt) 2) Ranger: LA or Split Arrow - can be less tanky and have higher dps Realistically in a 2man party you should aim for 2 auras per person for a total of 4 max. Both to take Unwavering stance and Iron Reflexes, so your team can have the multiplicative effect of both Determination and Grace. Remaining 2 auras can be offensive such as Hatred (if you are both physical base, you can run elemental LA off a physical bow such as Lioneye's) or other things such as Purity/Haste. One totem each, so your party can have things like one Skele Totem and one Flametotem+Blind. Note: If you are in Nemesis/Hardcore both players need to build full tank regardless. |

player 1: two-handed cyclone with high dps and survivability
player 2: trapper with dual curse, static blows + lightningtrap , coldsnap+proliferation trap, detonate dead, culling skill + rarity. cyclone has really good clearspeed, especially with slowed monsters but it lacks in screenwide killspeed. player 2 provides massive security and utility while clearing whole screens with detonate once the first corpses appear (anti-syenergy with coldsnap trap). high dps high safety (poorjoy's asylum + 77 maps with very hard affixes-approved) easily 200+ rarity + goldwyrm on player 2 possible another advantage: only player 1 really takes advantage from a 5-link so you can even pool 5-links from player 2. yet another: both players are immune to reflect Last edited by SVD#6236 on Nov 25, 2013, 3:53:03 PM

Player 1: Summoner. Massive shield wall and great for having a fallback. Only real counter are AOE attacks, but after about level 30 the minions are strong enough to last.
Player 2a: Discharger. Best mix with summoners. Can easily gather charges and focus on damage and can easily one-shot any boss by about level 50 if all effort is put into damage. Player 2b: Culling. Low damage, high attack speed, multi-projectile based build. Chain would be most effective with this. Minions deal enough damage for this build to easily wipe the rest. Player 2c: Trapper. High damage early on in the game, can use freeze mine for crowd control if the minions are dying to quickly, the summoner is in trouble, or as an escape ability. |

" my friend is immune to it :). even against double reflect. only with double reflect + vulnerability it becomes noticeable | |
Best is for one to roll more of a culler/mfer and other dpser so you both get rich in a duo party.

My brother and I also play duo.
I'm focused purely on auras and charges and him on culling and MF. Probably about 3 or 4 ex worth of gear we have so far but its quite fun. IGN: LiveD_LivE
