Increased Elemental Damage With Wands

Hey, I was wondering how does actually "Increased Elemental Damage" with specific weapon types work? I've seen a lot of passive nodes with this attribute and questioned myself if I should use it. Can anyone explain? Does it add damage to elemental spells? Or does the weapon have to have Elemental Damage on it for it to work? Thank you.
It increases any existing Elemental damage; Converted damage, damage from Added Fire, flat damage from gear, the Elemental Auras, all of that -- as long as you're using the correct weapon, naturally :)

Spells are not effected. They are not damage dealt with Wands; you simply happen to be holding a Wand.
Thank You. It seems that these are useless for a caster.
Incorrect. As long as the node doesn't specifically say "elemental damage with weapons" it will apply the bonus to spells as well as elemental weapon attacks.

no thats "while wielding" like the crit mods with staff just above the "elemental with wand" nodes the topic is refering to. that "staff" node even says global crit chance to indicate the crit chance and multiplier listed is for everything. plain crit boost passives are also global but they don't have to say it as there's nothing else to confuse the statement with.

the elemental damage with wands, is exact same as elemental damage with weapons. its just specific to wands.
Demogear's right, when wands are mentioned, only wand abilities and basic attacks with wands are affected.
I'm trying to build the perfect lightning damage witch. It's not easy picking which nodes are useful and which aren't with limited game experience. This game is all about knowledge and time spent playing it.
