Asking me to read word by word slowly and all that noise

I think there's been a misunderstanding here. He wasn't taking the piss. I've been playing for a while now and I'm only just starting to understand how important it is in this game to read (and sometimes re read) every word very slowly and consider its precise meaning. It was legitimate advice, I wish someone had given it to me a few months ago.

Well I guess that will always be subjective but no matter what
the dispute is a thing of the past...hopefully, if you guys could quit taking it up all the time and lets stick to the topic.

I can't find those two items to compare damage output but anyone know in general how it is intended to work. Is elemental damage on a mace meant to increase elemental damage on spells, on melee attacks and on skills used by the Spell Totem support gem?

Elemental damage increases ALL things with an element, what ever your using, it will be increased, even weapons. For example, if your weapon did 10-20 fire dmg AND your weapon has +10% damage to elemental damage. your "basic attack" in the tool tip should read 11-22 fire damage.

If you have something that says "increase x% elemental weapon damage" it will increase all skills that have elemental damage that uses your weapon for the attack. Example heavy strike or lightning arrow. It will NOT increase dps to spells like fireball or arc cause they are spells and do not use your weapon to do the attack.

It's the same the other way around, Spell damage will increase dmg to "spells" like arc and fireball but not to skills like heavy strike or lightning arrow because they are "NOT spells"

Edit: I saw your post, your thinking too complicated. (THIS IS NOT TO MAKE YOU FEEL STUPID!) Which has the higher number? 35% or 19/20%? because both affixes work for your spell. arc is a spell and does lightning dmg. so both increased spell and elemental dmg work and they increase the dps in the same manner.

I think what Mindgem was trying to do was add the 20% spell and 19% elemental which appeared on the same weapon, to make 39%. this IS bigger than the 35% on the other weapon, but the tooltip seemed to disagree.
That's how I read his post anyway.
