the following is what i came up with for a sword/shield tank type. plenty of defense with access to dual totem. rejuvenation totem will be your "heal ability" since there is no direct healing skill. you could drop another totem, such as decoy totem, to help out with keeping mobs off your rejuv totem and yourself. your melee skills would be up to personal taste.

This is a build that you might want to try
Let me explain my decisions: Templar is obvious for a Paladin like role. Generally dex builds with high dodge, iron reflexes and Grace tend to get the highest defense, but light armor doesn't fit into the Paladin theme, so I didn't go that route. This build utilizes high HP Regen and Strong fire elemental damage and improved Auras due to inner focus. With the reduced mana cost nodes, mana regen and Reduced Reservation you could probably maintain atleast 2 Auras without too much trouble, three or four would be pushing it a bit but very possible. The Aura Determination is a given. On the side you might want to take Vitality, Purity or Anger (depending on your needs). Due to the build's high fire damage you will be making maximum use of Molten Shell for very high Damage. And since you are on the front lines taking hits, Molten Shell complements the character perfectly. Molten Shell's damage and armor are also affected by Inner Focus. For single target damage ideally you would be using infernal blow, but Heavy Strike with Added Fire Damage Support is also possible. For Multi Target you have cleave or Leap Slam, you can't use any other Str based AoE skills with a sword. Remember though that infernal Blow has an AoE component if you kill a target, and it does fire AoE which is good for you. For leveling, as with any build that traverses a wide area of the Passive Tree, the build will be lackluster at early lvls, but will become very powerful late game. Your first priority should be getting Resolute Technique. On the way to Resolute technique build some defenses at the base of the Templar tree. After getting Resolute Technique you would probably want to get Inner Focus and the nearby Fire element nodes. Then, move down into the Marauder tree to get Unwavering Stance. Remember, you have low Dex so the lack of Evasion shouldn't affect you much. Then, get the three nearby HP Regen Passives. After that make your way into the Ranger tree base and get that 1% HP regen, taking the Armor nodes along the way. By now it should be very very late game, you can fill in some branches as you desire, but leave the last few HP Regen Passives at the middle of the Tree for last since they are fairly far away. With the high HP regen and buffed auras you should be able to tank okay, I think. You won't have nearly as much defense as someone with High Dex, evasion gear, Iron Reflexes, and Inner Focus buffed Grace, but you will have more HP due to your high Str. Your High HP will also make maximum use of your your HP Regen Passives. IGNs- Gyeff // Greff // Gyaff Last edited by geffreyy#5100 on Dec 24, 2012, 6:19:02 PM
