Spell: Homing Missiles (Screenshots inside)

Skill Information:
Attribute: Intelligence Keywords: Fire, Lightning, Cold, Projectile, Spell Cast Time: 0.3 sec. Mana Cost: 3 (lvl 1) to 16 (lvl 20) Critical Strike Chance: 7% Per 1% Quality: 0.5% chance for status ailment (based on element type) Required Level: 19 Similiar to my first suggestion (elemental disc), I created a spell which actually uses all 3 elements. All missiles that are cast have a random element and are automatically homing enemies. The base damage per missile is actually lower compared to other spells, but the mana cost is also very low and the cast speed is very fast. Here are 2 pictures when casting it on a single enemy. The red dot is the mouse cursor, the green arrows just show the direction and path the missiles take: ![]() ![]() Your cast time is 0.3sec, that means you can cast 3-4 missiles per second. If you aim directly at the enemy, all missiles will target it (if there are enemies between you and the enemy, the missiles will hit this enemy instead of the targeted one). The missiles are homing and are hard to outrun, but with gap closing skills like Leap Slam, Whirling Blades or others it is possible. The interesting part is, if you want to hit multiple enemies. This you can do, if you cast the spell on the ground instead a specific target. The missiles will randomly hit enemies that are close to you. I like the idea of homing projectiles. I like it so much I'd like it as a support gem instead of intrinsic to a specific skill.

" I've always thought the game could benefit from supports that change the pathing of projectiles. However, the limited number of supports per skill really limits this. There is a good amount of design area here though. |

Against bosses, a "Fire and Forget" GMP missile option would be serious OP.

" Well, that's not so much different then totems, isn't it? You cast them and you're job is done. Or use tornadoshot with GMP. You are guarenteed dozens of hits with each shot because you shoot 5x7 projectiles each shot ^^ And also don't forget that projectiles hits obstacles like other trashmobs that are in the way. Don't think it would be to op imo :) |

This is basically a spell version of elemental hit with the bonus of being autoseeking.
It would scale insanely with heralds and in beta anger (and wrath will provide bonus at least part of the time) Sounds like a balancing nightmare but kinda cool at the same time. https://youtu.be/T9kygXtkh10?t=285

Well, the Basedamage could be fairly low, so that it is highly dependend on good skilling and good support gems to be very effective.
