Separate item drops in party mode
The majority of the player base is in favor of adding loot options, some of the negative responses may be the same person posting from multiple accounts…
There is currently a very large thread on this subject in the beta general board. IGN: Wrathmar * Paulie * Client

Indeed, this topic has been discussed to death and resurrected so it can be discussed some more. And then discussed all the way back to death, revived, killed, revived, killed... you get the picture
Right now my position is that loot distribution options should definately be added to the private leagues. I don't "think" it will change anything in the main game (someone who knows a lot more about the structure of the private league system please correct me if I'm wrong) but will allow people to play the way they prefer if they're paying for it (and loot system wouldn't be all they were getting). If you add in multiple distribution options for the main game, cool, just make sure one loot option isn't outright better (more treasure drops) than any other. Otherwise, I don't really care that much, I'll deal with whatever system is in place in different ways at different times. I don't think making loot instanced would harm the atmosphere of the game, but the lack of it isn't stopping me from partying right now. |

This is not D3 so no.
Competition for items is amazing, it makes clicking like mad actually fun! but i only play with friends, so i dont know how random instances would be. <33 Karma

So why not have an option for it? Let the players choose, isn't that always the best way to go? I have not yet seen a compelling reason to not allow this other than the elite few saying "cuz i want it this way".

No. It is not always the best way to go.
And just because you haven't seen a compelling reason, does not mean none have been given. |

" You advocate loot competition but you only play with friends? OK.... Bringing up D3 is pointless to the discussion since it had many many different factors contributing to its problems. Standard Forever

" In my opinion it is always the best way to go IF there aren't any major negatives to having the option. The respec debate for instance has major negatives to the replay value of the game if full respecs are freely given. Its also very exploitable and changes the overall difficulty of making builds. Looting options is a playstyle change that doesn't have major impacts on the game itself. The example that I can give is the option for a slightly extended timer. This change would make a lot of people happy and change hardly anything about the game itself. It can be argued that it would have very big positive change to the number of public games. Edit: By the way there is a very long thread over looting in the beta general discussion. If you want to discuss the topic then please go there. This thread will probably be locked. I have to agree, seperate loot items, I was a victim of it recently. Wasn't too happy, but it's game. But would love for this to be a great game.

As more and more players come to the game, this topic will keep surfacing. This will be the topic that comes back again and again because people want to party but the stress and ill will that comes from trying to get loot on a ranged character when playing with strangers is not worth the extra experience in my opinion.
Right now people have decisions to make when they join a party of strangers simply because they want social interaction - -Choose to be ok with the fact they will get no loot. -Try to be fast enough to pick loot up, letting the other party members finish off the last of the mobs. -Know that you are going to be left to finish the mobs off while the rest of the party members make a mad dash for that unique/rare orb that just dropped and hope you don't die in the process. For people who are just partying for the first time, the loot system is a smack in the face. You realistically cannot expect a group of strangers to be nice and adhere to any kind of niceness, some will but not many. You have to make friends, and then play with that group in parties, otherwise be resigned to the fact you are going to give loot up. “Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.”

Im ok with the current system - even tho i felt bad for the 2 guys dying because i abandoned fighting to grab my loot.
I want to be the very best; Like no one ever was; To grab them is my real test; To steal them is my cause; I will travel across the land; Searchin' far and wide; GONNA GRAB THEM ALL! Sometimes it feels like my Teammates are my biggest enemys - its WAR and only the strongest will survive. But since i get stronger every Day im ok with that. Anyways in my eyes good solution would be to just make item nameplates invisible for player that cant loot the item. So only you can see you Item for as long as the timer runs - after the time is over everyone can see and grab it - but its not already swarmed by 5 goblins clickspamming the poor rare item so its still the same FFA as nowadays but you get a lil bit more of an advantage. Dear Math, please grow up and solve your own problems, I'm tired of solving them for you.
