Client Crash on changing resolution

The Client crash when i try to change resolution to anything but the default setting.

Cannot change to full screen or windowed full screen with the default setting or with any other resolution.

I run windows 8 pro, dual screens,
main screen 2560x1440.
graphics card Radeon HD 6900.
8 gig ram


I have a laptop with windows 8 pro and on that the game runs perfectly. There I have a nvidia mobile graphics card with a resolution of 1600x900 and no dual screens


Just downloaded the game today so it should be the latest version of the game and the client.


Hope you can figure this one out, great game that I would love to be able to play on my big computer.

Some more information. Just tried to unplug my secondary monitor and now it lets me change resolution without any problems.

the second monitor has a resolution of 1920x1080 if that matters.

I am having the exact same issue.

I just downloaded and installed for the first time to play with some friends. The client will crash every time I try to alter the game resolution or set the full-screen option.

I am using two GTX580's in SLI with 310.90 drivers.

Using "Alt-Enter" to set full-screen will crash the client.

I tried adding "-fullscreen" to the launcher properties to my surprise the game will launch! However, now my keyboard will not respond in game. "Alt-tabbing" out will crash the client.

This happens every time I start the game making it unplayable.

GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 580 - 314.07 driver
CPU: i7 Sandybridge overclocked to 4.5ghz
RAM: 8gigs
Monitor #1: 1920x1080
Monitor #2: 1680x1050

PackCheck found no issues with PoE install.

I am running
Windows 7 Pro
Intel HD Graphics 4600
Intel i5 4200M (2.5 GHz dual-core)
4 gigs of RAM
Monitor: 1920*1080

I crash consistently when changing resolution in graphics settings. It seems like you have experience with crashes of this nature and I would be glad if you can help me. I recently switched PC and I would like to be able to play PoE again.

Do you have any programms installed that can pereodicly change your resolution between your desk resolution and game resolution? (like Catalyst Control Center) In most cases its they causing this problems.

My game always crashes after changing resolution, nothing new for me.

If anyone still has this problem I found a solution. For me i have an NVIDIA FeForce GTX 970 and when i looked at the Adapter option under Graphics and it shows #0 and #1. My client was on #0 when it was crashing and i changed it to #1 and now i dont have the problem anymore. If this helped cool if not sorry :/
