PathOfExile.exe blocking internet access?
Sometimes I have a problem with internet while playing PoE. I'm normally killing monsters, then it looks like I lose my internet connection, I can't deal any damage to monsters and monsters can't do anything to me. They are just running behind me. When I see that it happens, I log out as fast as I can, but when there are many monsters around me, they will kill me anyway. That's the way I died on my Ranger on Nemesis. Today it happens again. I reloged as fast as I could and happily I didn't die. Then when I was on the login screen, I couldn't login to the game again and I couldn't open the pathofexile.com site too. Some sites works fine, but some not. Then I shutted down PathOfExile.exe process and everything was fine. I could go to all of the web sites. Then I launched PoE again and I could log in normally. What's going on? Is it the PathOfExile.exe problem? It looks like it.

Correlation vs Causation.
Path of Exile won't block your internet access. Your internet was temporarily disconnected for whatever reason. Could be due to hardware failure, drivers, etc. Could be due to other software as well "protecting" your PC (like K9 Web Protection). What you are seeing as Path of Exile CAUSING your problem is just a correlation. Path of Exile happened to be open and you were playing it when you lost your internet connection. The real question is "why did you lose your internet?". I don't know the answer to that. You'll have to do some digging around if it keeps happening and determine what on your end might be causing it. Do you have any antivirus or firewall software that might cause this sort of issue? Do you have bandwidth restrictions? Are you using a Wireless connection? Are you somehow causing your router/modem to reboot? These are the sorts of things you need to look into when the problems are happening. |

" Thanks for response! I have installed Malwarebytes and PC Tool Firewall Plus as a firewall. But I can't imagine using computer without firewall and this problem was before I've installed it. From the start I was using only Malwarebytes, mayby this is causing the problem. I don't have bandwidth restrictions, not using Wi-Fi and I'm 100% sure that I'm noc causing router rebot, because my brother was right behind me when it happened and for him internet worked normally. |

" If only your internet was out and his internet was working correctly the whole time, then the issue is completely isolated to your PC. You should both run WinMTR traces at the same time and see if they show the same or different results. Instructions for the WinMTR can be found linked in the Consolidated Technical sticky post. If you start showing a lot of packet loss or latency on your trace that isn't showing up on your brother's PC, then you've got something on your PC causing issues, or it is a bad network card, or bad port on the router. It's hard to say for sure, but that would show us the isolation to your PC (or not). |

My brother is not aviable right now, but here is Winmtr from my computer:

I just almost died because of that issue. I will not play the game if I will not fix it first.

Really, you need to run both at the same time so we can get comparable results.
Just based on your post alone, you got a bit of packet loss here: | 83.238.60.81 - 30 | 65 | 46 | 15 | 23 | 147 | 21 | | c97-125.icpnet.pl - 30 | 65 | 46 | 0 | 22 | 57 | 23 | 30%.. not good. Could be due to ISP or filtering/firewall. It's hard to say without more diagnostics. |

Ok, I will run on both tomorrow. I turned off my firewall while using Winmtr so it's not because of it. (Windows firewall was turned off too)

Okay, I have Winmtr from both computers. I'm really confused. It looks like my internet is now perfectly fine and I didn't changed anything.

Those traces seem to match pretty closely (within a margin of error).
If the problem returns, try running both traces again and see what happens. |
