Blocking players?
With the constant influx of new people in the beta, the number of overtly offensive people and chat spamming people increases, too. I would really like to see blocking implemented soon. Any word on this?

If you activate chat window and CTRL rightclick a name you have several selections.Invite to Guild and Send Mail are greyed out. Block isn't. I used it to block someone I deemed offensive but it didn't help. His messages still showed in Global chat. I did get the option to Unblock him when I CTRL rightclicked him again though.
Would be nice to see it implemented soon, as the current group of people really doesn't represent a normal beta tester population. It's been akwardly surprising and surprisingly akward... |

I was pretty disappointed that nothing was done to improve this aspect of the game as beta keys were given out at PAX. Global chat has been pretty much destroyed. Block needs to be fixed, chat channels need to be segregated ASAP, and more needs to be done to educate any additional testers between now and release as to what kind of beta they're logging into.
I have never seen a game community go downhill as quickly and as drastically as PoE's did during/after PAX. The Amazon Basin: A Community of Friends Playing Games

I'm not up to date with events.
I turned off global chat after 1st day of beta :P Anyways Influx of this kind of ppl might be a pain now but that's the problem of pretty much every online game. We need to take care of that (to some extent at least) before release, such pest invasion might be helpful to test some solutions. Chat channels needs to be segregated anyway. They are unreadable (pretty much like d2 trade channels) with such amount of ppl playing. They were split to SC, HC. Next step should be split them by difficulty (or even further - by "towns") and enable blocking (ignoring) ppl. Friends list would be welcomed too (it was enabled in early alpha afaik). The best way to take care of most such ppl is just educate them. If some1 misbehaves - no trades, no co-op and no advices about the game (+block until reconnect). The rest could be banned manually. | |
" this. also, if they are nearby you, you can right click on their character and choose "block". |
