Grim Dawn... has anyone tried it?

I have been following on and off the development of this game. it does look owefully similar to our beloved PoE.

Has anyone tried it ? Since its not f2p, not sure if i want to give $30 to GGG or to try Grim Dawn instead

I bought alpha access to GD a while back. Then when it came out, it required outside client to download/run (wasn't very happy about that) ... and then on top of that, I didn't even get an email letting me know that the game was acessable to alpha supporters, happened to catch that bit of news about a week later while browsing there forums (really not happy about that) ... I mean, for $75 you'd think they could at least send out an automated email.

I played GD for about a day. Been playing PoE everyday since OB minus one.

Which game do I think is better?
BLAMT!
Grim Dawn is great! Give it a try!

(then proceed to give GGG moar moneys) :)
Don't forget to drink your milk 👌
hm... what conflicting, yet uninformative, points of view. Perhaps vagueness of original question is the reason. I thank you for your comments, but i would like to know a bit more as far as details go. Its up on steam atm, wondering about the game. anything makes it stand out as compared to other aRPGs ?

Its quite similar to Titan Quest skill wise. You have a few classes and you can put points in the mastery and on skills. It's quite unbalanced right now, but that might be because of the low level cap (25).

The aesthetic is boring compared to the beautiful world of TQ. I, for one, don't really like the art of this game. It looks bland and too gritty. I think PoE is much more beautiful to look at.

There isn't much content in the game right now. Unless you don't mind grinding the same areas over and over again, I'd wait for a few patches before getting it.

It is like TitanQuest only in a more darker setting.

I don't know if you're familiar with TitanQuest but I guess the best thing about the game is the class and skill system. In GD you'll basically chose 2 out of 5 masteries to create your class and then spend points on skills to make your build.
The class system is really great and besides poor balancing TQ was the aRPG with by far the most build options, making it really interesting. :)

Also from what I've read the lead designer of GD is one of the few designers out there who still gets "it". Wish that guy that had designed D3. :/

Anyway GD will feel somewhat clunky perhaps, or even under-developed compared to PoE, as GrimDawn is developed indie-style. ;)

All in all I'd say go check it out, and check out TQ when you're at it.
Crafting doesn't exist in POE. Gambling does...and the house always wins.

Velocireptile - I LOL'ed. Which made me fart. I wish the office were empty right now :(

Hardlicker - I had to push the dog out of the way so I could get to the sexy quilt.
Hi

Check GD website forums and find some players video posts, or even check Krips video on GD game looks really interesting, like the idea of smashing doors down and fixing stuff to get access to other areas. I am watching the game till they add more stuff and lvl cap gets raised. I will in the future be playing both games I know this much for certain.

cheers

Nullus Anxietas:)
Good game but small amount of content atm, they are way too slow. Dont pay 60, its waste of money
I haven't played it but "Titan Quest in a diablo setting" seems to be a pretty good description.

I want to buy it too but with only one act complete and no multiplayer yet, I am waiting for release most likely before i get it. I do expect it to be an awesome game though.
